Jason N. Smith is a self-proclaimed nerd and has been writing since he was a child. He believes growing up in a small town in west-central Alabama founded by Napoleonic refugees sparked his love of French and history.

After graduating high school, Jason continued his studies at Auburn University earning Bachelor's Degrees in Marketing and French before completing his Master's in Spanish. He now teaches French and Spanish full time in Atlanta, Georgia. Jason lives with his husband and their four furry children, while working on a Master's in French at New York University's Paris campus during the summers.

It has always held me captive and I love a g…moreI have been interested in the Salem Witch Trials since I read "The Witch of Blackbird Pond" in 7th grade. It has always held me captive and I love a good mystery about things which may or may not be supernatural. I have also always been interested in Native Americans and one of my best friends is from NA heritage on both sides. I thought it'd be an interesting twist to mix the 2 traditions and belief systems in a YA novel. I am also proud to say there are strong LGBT characters in my book. I think it is important to promote characters with whom readers can identify as well as breaking down stereotypes. (less)

So far, this writing and publishing roller coaster has been one hell of a ride. I start writing my first novel in November of 2013 and somewhat finished it around May of 2014.
