NaNoWriMo 2016: Challenges

NaNoWriMo has proven to be a lot more difficult this year. I mean, I knew it would be challenging to do with all the other work and schoolwork that take priority, but I didn't think I'd remain so steady at getting so little done.Day 1 and Day 2 of NaNoWriMo went well, but I ended up hitting an obstacle in my writing and considering that I've been trying to pants this book, it's made it extremely hard. This just comes as a lesson to not pants anything anymore when you're so used to plotting in...

NaNoWriMo 2016: The Plotter Becomes The Pantser

Happy NaNoWriMo!Well, semi-happy at least. Today marks the start of a stressful NaNoWriMo. Why stressful?Last year, I had a part-time job. That made it easy for me to be able to hit 50k words in under the 30 day deadline. This year, however, I'm in a new state as a full-time student with a full-time job that has me working over 50 hours a week. This should be both interesting and exhausting, but this would show how possible it is to be able to hit a goal even with a busy life. The overall goal...

At the current, this third installment of my series,The Hallowed Chroniclesis only on Amazon for Kindle owners. I'm working to get it up on Smashwords, so that will be done later on tonight. As for the paperback version, we have hit some issues with the print, so that has been slightly delayed. However, this shouldn't take too long to fix, so expect the print copies to be available next week at t...

Changes to my NaNoWriMo Project (& Rant)

Hi all, I hope you're doing wonderfully. I just wanted to post about the changes to my NaNoWriMo project because life circumstances have proven to drive my inspiration elsewhere.A while back, I held a giveaway asking for my readers to choose what book I would be writing this NaNoWriMo. The winner chose my newest idea with the temporary title,The Pirate Queen. Ever since that decision came, it's been harder and harder for me to focus on getting the bare bones sorted out enough for me to feel c...

The NaNo Doubts

Earlier today, I made my first post to my newNaNoWriMochapter for Houston to introduce myself. While I was typing it up, I had to stop and take a minute to collect my thoughts. I ended up rereading what I had already written. At that point, I noticed I started talking about how different this year would be compared to the past 2 years that I officially participated in.The past 2 years, I worked a part-time job with weird, inconsistent hours. Either way, I was able to get away and write at leas...

The Long Journey Home

Happy world Rhino day!Today is the perfect day to come out and talk about a new and upcoming novella I'll be working on before and after this year's NaNoWriMo. Now, this story doesn't revolve around a rhino, as you can see from the cover in this post. Instead, it revolves around a blue nose pit bull named Rhino. The story is going to be compared withMarley & Meby John Grogan andA Dog's Purposeby W. Bruce Cameron. The overall gist of the story is to go throughout the journey of Rhino, getting ta...

{COVER REVEAL DATE} Lustella's Descent

Sairim: Lustella's Descentis an upcoming, free, short story that will be available on both Amazon and Smashwords. The genres this story falls under are sci-fi and fantasy.I really love writing this short story; it's all about world building and putting you, the reader, right into that world, making you feel like you're actually there. To be honest, I've already been getting some really good feedback on it, which is extremely exciting. This short story already has a release date, that being Nove...

Experiment 6752 to be Taken off the Shelves

Experiment 6752was my first novel published back in 2012 with a main character that I hold dear to my heart. I love the main character, Aonair so much that I ended up getting him tattooed on my back, with his tail coming onto my arm.Anyway, recently, I've been pondering on going back and rewriting the story. Yes, many authors tell aspiring writers to not go back and rewrite a story that was already written, to focus on the new books you need to get out.Well, right now, I'm in the position to...

A Busy Writer's Life: Time Management

So, your life is just a busy mess, but you want to find the time to be able to do what you love; write. It's not that easy, but itispossible.I work over 50 hours a week,Monday through Friday (and sometimes Saturday). On top of that, I'm considered a full time student while I study 2 classes each term to graduate on time.I work from 7:30AM to 6:30PM, come home, do my chores, then I work on my schoolwork. At that point, I realized, where in the hell am I going to get time to write during NaNoWr...
