After living in ashrams for three decades, award-winning journalist Margaret Bendet has written a memoir--Learning to Eat Along the Way--about the surprises she found on her journey. This is the story of a newspaper reporter who follows an Indian master of meditation in pursuit of enlightenment--and encounters the demons that have been inside her all along. Currently, she lives on Whidbey Island in Washington State, where she teaches memoir writing. After assisting hundreds of people to tell their stories, she saw that every story can be told--even one as thorny as her own.
