I've recently published a book, this time on Whitby's history, as opposed to my previous works on the town's ghostly goings on.
'Whitby: From the Celts to the Steampunks', covers the town's long panoply of history, from the subjugation of the Celts by the expanding Roman Empire, to the present day welcome invasion of the town by the glorious Goths and sensational Steampunks.
Everything from saintly abbesses to saucy sailors lies within its covers, in this personal view of the town's history.
As a harbour officer in the town back in the 1980's, I developed a good insight of how the past rubbed up against the present, so expect some candid views on the town's history, not bland repeatings of previous historical tomes.
It's available now on Amazon, in ebook, paperback and Audible format.
