Throughout my life, a love for books has been constant and dominant. My readings have introduced me to characters that shaped my views and carried me through adverse times. I am inspired by many of these great writers to create characters that lead readers through their lives and inspire one to look inward and when looking outward to be sympathetic and not quick to prejudge based on ethnicity, clothing, choices, etc. My interest in cultures has taken me to various countries where I met innocent fellow humans trying to survive day by day; women, children, and men, fighting to live under harsh economic and unjust conditions; exploited immigrants in a land of plenty hoping to make dreams come true, if not for themselves, for their children; pe ...more

I always imagine myself to be a part of the story. My most beloved writers are the classic Russian writers, Dostoevsky, Gorky, Tolstoy, Chekhov.... I would travel to St. Petersburg where I would write using a male pseudonym. The world in these novels were real though the stories were fictional. Thomas Hardy's Wessex would be a fictional world of choice, however, as a woman I would be limited to what I could do since the suppression of women existed during that time more than today. I would be a woman known for exposing and fighting against the sexual hypocrisy of that time.
Unfortunately, it still exist and I fight against it. (less)
