Jane O'Brien discovered her love of writing at the age of ten when she wrote her first ten-chapter book in pencil on notebook paper. She passed it around to all of her friends at school and told them she wanted to be an author. And that planted the seed.
O'Brien's career life has been varied. She was a piano teacher for over 50 years, a librarian, and a professional proofreader. She is also interested in genealogy, having worked on her own family tree, as well as her husband's, for over 40 years, which helps to color most of her novels.

She was quite secretive and never talked about herself. Her farm house burned to the ground taking all papers, pictures, and letters with it. I have created stories around her in The Unforgettables in Book 3, Ivy and Fox. In my imagination she is the peasant girl named Anya, in the Carpathian mountains, which is where she was born. As a young girl, she took her cows to graze for two weeks at a time. It's the only true story I have about her.(less)

Cheryl Lake Jane, I read A Slip in Time some time ago and loved it. The mode of time travel you used was fantastic. Thank you! Inspiration usually starts with a single question: What if?
As a new author of A Quilt Through Time, I also have used a quilt as a mode of transport.
Quilts, especially, are stitched together from memories, love, and generations of family history, so it felt natural to imagine one carrying someone through time.
Thank you again for your many great reads!
