Real talk - Readers, when reading about fictional worlds, do you view those spheres through the lens of Earth standards surrounding diversity?
For instance, my sci-fi debut "Apex Five" takes place in an alternate Plane and so although many of the main characters would be considered diverse to our standards (LGBTQ, race, etc), this was not a conscious effort. Simply a happy coincidence, and one I am very happy with.
Writers - do you purposely include diversity in your fictional worlds or only stories with settings involving humans on Earth?
