Sara Rishforth grew up in South Carolina and spent eight years in Alaska, where she relied on lattes, nachos, and her circle of friends to survive the long winters. Having lucked out on the dating lottery, Sara retired from the scene and now lives in Bend, Oregon with her husband and their fuzzy cats, Cheddar and Poppyseed.

When not stealing quarters from her husband’s drawer to fund her latte habit, Sara tests recipes, watches Top Chef, plays ukulele and guitar, or gabs on the phone with her mother.

Adventures in Dating and After We Met were published in 2014. Her latest book is about Bend food and the farm-to-table movement. The book published by The History Press came out in June 2018.

“We have to stop the glorification of busy. We need to change our mindset and redefine what it means to be productive. Productivity is not about doing more, it’s doing what’s most important. We need to stop trying to get more done and instead reset our focus on our own priorities. When we do that, our ideal lives can become our real, everyday lives.”
Tonya Dalton, The Joy of Missing Out: Live More by Doing Less
