I spent quite a few years in non-denominational Word of Faith churches, and eventually ended up in one that, after 12 years of participation, proved to be abusive. I left in 2010 and have done research into the phenomenon ever since. Red Flag Churches recounts my experiences and the insights I have learned since leaving.

Many authors have contributed to my understanding of abusive churches, but the one that started me on my journey out was Mike Fehlauer and his book Exposing Spiritual Abuse.
