New fantasy book

I'm so excited that my latest fantasy book, Leona & the Crown of Llangollen is now on preorder!
I have set the publish date to Dec 2023, but I'm very much hoping to have it released in Sep, super excited about this book.

How to Lose a Lord in Ten Days by Sophie Irwin is exactly that sort of read for me. It’s witty, romantic, and completely addictive — the kind of story that makes you laugh out loud in places and sigh happily in others.
The premise is wonderfully fun: Lydia Hanworth finds herself suddenly engaged to the Marquess of Ashford, but with a short window before the news goes public, she is determined to wriggle out of it. What follows is a house-party romp filled with schemes, misunderstandings, and an ever-growing attraction between the two of them.
The highlight of the book, for me, is the banter. Lydia and Ashford’s exchanges crackle with wit, teasing, and just the right amount of tenderness underneath. Their chemistry is impossible to resist. I loved watching them move from sparring partners to something far deeper, even though it was clear from the start where the romance was heading. In fact, the predictability was part of the charm — it felt safe, like being on a rollercoaster you know ends with a soft landing, but the twists and turns are still thrilling.
The supporting cast is lively and adds plenty of humour. I especially enjoyed the variety of personalities bouncing off one another, though I’ll admit Pip grated on me occasionally with his over-eager enthusiasm. Still, even his antics served to move the story along and inject extra energy.
Sophie Irwin balances the frothy rom-com feel with just enough depth to make the story satisfying. The Regency setting is vivid, the dialogue sparkles, and the pacing is perfect for a book built around a ten-day ticking clock.
In short: I adored it. How to Lose a Lord in Ten Days is clever, funny, and romantic in all the right ways. It left me smiling long after I turned the last page.
My only thumbs down is the book cover, which I thought did a great book no justice at all. Lydia looks awful on it for a start, and yes, I know she wears a ton of terrible dresses, but orange hair? Why? The cartoon imagery is cheap-looking.
Rating: 5 stars — witty banter, delicious romance, and plenty of laugh-out-loud moments.
