Pulling the Strings-August 20th and Beyond

I'm finally finished with the manuscript and it's off to formatting finally, and getting ready for the release August 20th. It's been a bit of a hiatus since I've posted anything with the move and getting my book together. I'm still working on a few projects but I have a new short story, The Hat,to post and share. Also, hoping to be back to a more regular schedule of posting here.

Getting the Date

Greetings from the home front,The last month has been crazy with setting up for moving in July, getting a kid through the end of school-year, and editing both a fellow writer's and my own writing work (not that I'm complaining.) I'm excited to say that despite the craziness, I've nailed the release of Between Gods and Mortals Book II: The Wraith's Memory down. Click the image to read current excerpts.Until the release, I'll continue to post snippets on my website. As always, thanks for your support.

Doing it from Home

Being at home has actually been pretty good for my muse and writing. There's only so many things I can procrastinate with. Work out, cook (I don't suck at making bread anymore), games, write, read and sit on kid to do schoolwork. As much as it's been a trial on patience and the ability to stay grounded while seeing the same four walls and having limited contact with others outside my immediate household, there's been a lot of learning going on.Patience and finding a lot of constructive things to do during my procrastination bouts, have really helped to make the circumstances at move in a more productive way. Flexing the mind definitely helps it to withstand the physical close quarters. Books are definitely important now more than ever, flexing our imagination, and expanding both physical and mental patience with whatever we can do constructive to pass the time. Routines and self-motivation are important, variation is too, just like in writing, life right now definitely is requiring we get better at keeping them all as best we can. No more ranting for the day, thanks for the continued support and take care of yourselves and each other however you can

It all counts

First off, I'd like to thank my visitors for checking out all my social media outlets and website. Reaching a steadily growing audience is always an exciting thing, and I'm glad whenever I can reach out to a new visitor for even a few moments. and It's been a rigorous month, with no shortage of surprises and response globally as I'm sure everyone already knows. Over the last few months I haven't completed as much as I would have liked, but am grateful for what I have been able to do so far. As of last night, I have officially started posting excerpts from Between Gods and Mortals II: The Wraith's Memory. I'll be posting one or two a month until the Summer release, so come and check it out. Along with this, I'll be posting fewer shorts to my website other than Twelve Lives, and making room for new things to come. Patrons of the Pen will resume soon, and is currently TBA. Thank you for your continued support

Back to the Adventure

Hello all, I was pretty much out of commission all of February with the worst of the sickness from hell (gastrointestinal strep-didn't even know that was a thing.) but, I'm back and ready to tackle some more writing. Finally finished the 2nd draft of my short story, just shy of 15k. Normally I'm not concerned with WC, but I challenged myself to keep it below 20k and finish in 3 months. A good personal challenge is nice once in a while. Things with our adoption process are moving in some unexpected and annoying directions but, it looks like things are finally back on track. Other things are finally on the move and with so many new projects and goals to reach, including some editing for a client, we're building something big and I'm ready to get started. #goals #Writers #amwritingfantasy #writerslife #WritingCommunity

Have fun writing

Locked in epic combat with the Black Knight themself, with clashing swords and damaged armor. What's your first random thought?

I do this when I'm stuck in a story, think of something that would be randomly popping into my characters' minds while doing something serious. People focus well but get distracted by random thoughts, so it's fun to think of what my characters random thoughts would be. It keeps me from losing the fun in my writing.
