Hire a Chalk Artist – Available for Street Fairs and Signage
It was so great working as a chalk artist for the City of Eatonton‘s Magnolia Market last weekend! I thought maybe some of you might hire a chalk artist, so I thought I’d share some info about all that.
Chalk art is basically another type of a mural (here’s where you can take a look at my mural portfolio). It’s created with water-based chalks and pastels, and when it rains, it washes away. It’s a really fun way to add ambiance to a street fair, local event, food truck meetup, or carnival!

Traffic Box Mural Projects: Squirrel Seasons
It has been so much fun to create traffic box mural projects with the City of Stockbridge over this past year; can you believe I’ve already painted seven for the city?! This latest one, called “Squirrel Seasons”, is at the corner of Campground Road and Winbrook Drive.

Any great design project doesn’t just happen on the fly, and mural projects aren’t any different. At the start of this project, I had some meetings in person, on the phone, and via email with the City of Stockbridge. Through our co...

K-cup packaging design for Queen Bee Coffee
I love a good design challenge – when McDonough’s local coffee shop Queen Bee Coffee got in touch for a custom K-Cup Packaging Design project, I was so in.
The production quantities? Huge. The printer? Somewhere I couldn’t travel to for a press check.
You know I said yes.

Our K-Cup Packaging Design project started with the most basic sketch – Micah had a general idea where he wanted certain design elements to hit, and he scrawled those onto an existing coffee pod package. From there, I researched...

Name Your Own Price – Robots! They’re Just Like Us!
It’s a painting sale! Contact me here so you can name your price on the piece you’d like. You can also email me directly at StephCalvertArt@gmail.com. One thing to note – $15 for shipping will be added if you’re not local enough to Henry County, GA to pick up.
I realized recently just how many paintings I have on hand from over the last twenty years, and it’s time to find homes for them all. I’ll be sharing them in groups; it makes it easier to digest them all, and so many of them ...

Community Art Project – NASCAR Quaker 400 Coloring Canvas
Last weekend was so much dang fun! Visit Henry County had me come out and man the yearly community art project we create for NASCAR’s Quaker 400 race weekend.
This is the third year working with Visit Henry County and Atlanta Motor Speedway on a coloring canvas. It gets set up on a huge table in the Fan Zone, and all of the folks walking by have an opportunity to contribute their favorite colors.
One of my favorite things about this project is how much life the pieces have as each day progresses!...

Halloween Art Collection – Fun and Spooky Characters

You guys, I love Halloween art collection time! It’s one of my favorite holidays, and there’s just a never-ending wealth of inspiration out there.

For “This is Halloween”, I wanted to focus on an art collection that was all ages fun, silly, and in classic Halloween party colors. If you’re like me, you pick up more decorations every year, and following that classic palette makes sure everything looks together over the long haul!

This big silly graveyard repeat pattern is my ode to Knott’s Berry Fa...

I’m excited to share this floral repeat pattern art collection with you!
Brushy Floral is a set of 8 hand-painted true repeat patterns available for art licensing in all categories. Surprise! Illustration Portfolio Website Redesign!

So… a fresh new illustration portfolio website redesign wasn’t at the top of my to-do list for the end of summer, but here we are.
It feels like everything has been completely non-stop since the end of the school year. My family got to head to California to celebrate our cousin Michelle’s marriage to the love of her life. I painted a new mural for Rico’s Mexican Restaurant in Stockbridge, GA, and led a week-long art camp for middle schoolers for Henry Arts Alliance. I updated the mural p...
