DO WE REALLY REAP WHAT WE SOW?

It has been said that the world is but a mirror that returns to us the reflection of ourselves. If we angrily sneer at her, she sneers right back but if we smile at her, she willfully smiles, in return, with the same beautiful intention. If we can fundamentally agree and accept this as a reliable truth then our understanding will further deepen and eventually lead us to the awareness that everythi Read more of this blog post »

“The Scoreboard

The scoreboard marks the fleeting gains,
A tally of triumph, or bitter pains.
It charts the quarters as the seconds pass,
But whispers no stories that forever last.

It speaks not of dawn's grueling call,
The endless practice, of giving your all.
Nor the silent agony of fighting back tears
Or a players growth beyond his fears

For wisdom's true victory, outside the applause, Is forged in the courage that challenges draws.

The grit of the spirit, the bonds that endure,
The character built, profoundly secured.

It's final horn may blare who was boss
flashing those digits of who won and loss
But beyond the sadness, and all the glory,
The scoreboard tells the score, but never the story.”

“Sticks and stones will break my bones but names will never hurt me.” This is a lie. What we say matters. The unkind things we communicate can soil the best of relationships; even with the deepest of regrets…what lingers is a stain of hurt that may fade but will never truly go away. The wounding words we say are like feathers released in a harsh wind, once said; we will never get them back. ~Jason Versey”

“Self pity is the sworn enemy of your ambition. It is the number one killer of your aspirations and goals. Give it a foothold in your life and you’ll chase away every dream, dreamt and every friend, befriended.”
Jason Versey, A Walk with Prudence

“If we internalize every disappointing setback with contempt and self-loathing, a life of solitary confinement and discontentment awaits us. It’s a verdict indicted by a prosecution, deliberated by a jury and condemned by a judge…all three being you. We imprison ourselves when we allow outside negative circumstances and people dictate who we are. You can dwell in that cell…but only you can exonerate you. ~Jason Versey”

“Despite the strength of their wings most never leave the cages they've created.”

“When you think of your death;
Seek not your rest in the hardened ground.
But do so in the breast of men; Where heartbeats can be found.”
Jason Versey, A Walk with Prudence

“One needn't physically die to spiritually dwell, for the content know of heaven and the aggrieved know of hell.”

“Even a spineless anthropod sheds what's no longer useful and leaves it behind them. Are you not greater than they?”

No Victory
Know Sacrifice
Know Victory”
