New Boxed Set - ISCU Series
The aliens didn’t invade Earth in giant spaceships as depicted in the movies - they were smarter than that.
I just wanted to let you know that you can now read the first three books in The Invasive Species Series in one collection.
The boxed set includes Merciless, Fearless & Careless. Each book features a new couple, but the overall storyline continues through the series.

Reading Challenge 2018
As the end of the year approaches, Goodreads kindly sent me my year of books review, which told me I read 15,432 pages across 60 books.
My aim was 30 books this year, so I doubled my quota. I think having a kindle unlimited subscription for 6 months boosted the figures, as once I found an author that I liked in the scheme, it was very easy to consume their work.
All my books are in kindle unlimited for this very reason as I want to reach a large group of readers in my chosen genre.
How ever many books you managed to read in 2018, I hope you found some new authors to support and maybe some of my books will make it onto your 2019 reading lists.

Kindle Unlimited Scam :(
May has not been a great month for some indie authors with the latest Click Farm scam targeting kindle unlimited in order to manipulate pages read.
I was one of the unlucky author's caught up in the scam, which resulted in the loss of income and subsequent exposure across my Kari Stillwell & Ember Lane series.
In short, "robots" or "click farms" have been reading random authors' books in an attempt to hide their illegal activity in manipulating better rankings for other authors who have paid for the service (I know it sounds like a bad sci-fi plot - robots are taking over the world lol).
Amazon's reaction was to threaten genuine authors with the suspension & in some cases even closing accounts, which means I have been scared to promote for fear of being targeted again, and at one point, it almost made me want to quit writing as I found it tough to find the enthusiasm to carry on with my current novels.
Amazon have since released a statement (after some angry emails and complaints from genuine authors like myself who are unable to protect themselves from these clickfarm scams) ensuring they will look into the issue, but it has really put a black mark against my publishing experience.
However, it's not all doom and gloom. Tomorrow is the start of a new month and I am hoping I will soon have some new material to share with my readers and I wanted to end this post with a thanks as always for the support, shares, reviews & likes.
It really does mean so much to an indie author in their time of need.

Reading Challenge 2017
I am happy to report that I completed my 2017 Goodreads Reading Challenge in almost half the allocated year.
I've read over 25 books in 6 months... I was trying to pinpoint the reason I read so many books this year while barely scraping in the required amount last year, and can only put it down to the fact I must read more while I am in the middle of writing my own novels or I am choosing shorter books.
Either way, there are still another 5 months to fill with books from my "To Read" list, but I may slow down as I get to the time-consuming EDITING stage of my novel.
If you're looking for books to add to your reading challenge, check out my Kari Stillwell or Ember Lane series. Many of which will be on promotion over the next week.
Enjoy your summer

Bookweek 2017
#Bookweek - Just a little update, as it's been a busy week so far. Firstly, I'm happy to report that Book #5 in Kari Stillwell series is coming along nicely, and I am finding time to write every day (even it its only a few minutes or a few hours).
On Monday, I was invited back to my old primary school to give author talks to the children about being a past-pupil and fulfilling my dream of publishing. It went really well. I was nervous at first, but once I'd shown the kids some old school photos of me sporting some tragic 1980's hair cuts, the nerves disappeared :) They were really attentive and I hope I inspired them to read more, write more, and generally just follow their dreams. I gave 3 speeches to 120 kids in total, and they asked some fabulous questions.
On Thursday, my kids dressed up as a book character and had a wonderful day in school with their friends talking about books.
Today, I went into my children's school to read to small groups. The theme was tales from around the world and as my mother's family have Irish heritage, I read some Irish fairy tales. The idea was to expose the kids to stories they may not have heard before and my groups listened well and really took on board the "moral" of these stories.
So, all in all I feel like I have contributed positively towards book week in the best ways I know how - let's hope books continue to be loved and enjoyed by children and adults alike for many years to come.

Writing Retreat 2016
I'm still coming down from the highs of a fantastic writing retreat at Center Parcs where I managed to add around 9,000 new words across the 72 hours to my work in progress.
Amazing how much writing you can get done when you don't have the pressures of every day life to distract you.
Maybe one day, writing will be a full time job for me, but until then, I'll just enjoy the small things that make me want to carry on publishing like someone leaving me a review, someone recommending my books to their friends, or someone talking about my characters like they're real people!!
Means I'm doing something right :)

New Release #FridayFeeling
I am happy to share with you all that book #4 in the Kari Stillwell series was published today.
COME UNDONE sees Kari discovering the truth about where she came from and why she has her powers. She also faces a tough decision about which direction her future takes.
It was a hard book to write, as I know the eventual outcome will please some, and disappoint others. I never planned for a love-triangle when I started writing WILD SIDE -it just happened! Jack and Grayton are strong characters, and neither one are willing to let Kari go.

Bundling into a Boxed Set
I love discovering a new author and especially enjoy a good series - romance, crime or fantasy - I like reading how the characters develop across two or three novels towards a bigger end-game.
That's why I bundled the first three of my "Kari Stillwell" novels together and released the boxed set towards the end of last year.
Book #4 in the Kari Stillwell series will be released in a few months, so if you're looking for a new series to start and you like urban fantasy set in and around London, you can download the boxed set from amazon for a bargain price of 99c/99p until 8th June 2016.
