Book Review: Elemental Rancor by Charles Lominec #SFF #IFNRTG #Review @ElementalRancor

Book Blurb:

A far away star supernovas and sends waves of force and change rippling through the cosmos. The waves crash into Sarnen Karnea’s world and thrust him into a deadly struggle to keep his loved ones from harm and to keep a secret about his son from the Zangava Empire.

The waves awaken new and old forms of consciousness, and stir ancient primordial resentments, that threaten to destabilize the Empire’s dominance in the world. Challengers from across the ocean, and from under it, seek to capitalize on newly developing Imperial problems.

Like the Empire, Sarnen must adapt to survive, and must ask himself which of his virtues he is willing to deny in order to reach his goals.

My Review:

Elemental Rancor: A Chronicle of Consequence is a blend of classic science fiction with futuristic fantasy along with some incredible philosophy undertones. When I first started reading it, I…

Reviewer Spotlight: Woven Magic

Originally posted on Lominec Lexicon:

Here are some encouraging words from Molly at Woven Magic regarding Elemental Rancor:

“I liked that the elements had a consciousness and the magic is really just people communicating with them.”

“I found myself staying up too late, because I was just going to read one more chapter.”

The kindle version free promo is still live, so you can see what robbed Molly of precious sleep.

I discovered  Woven Magic when Molly liked the review posted on It’s All About Books. Molly is an avid book reader who is also working on her own writing projects. Her review template is a little different than others, but I like it. Not only will she write about what she liked in a story, she also discusses areas of improvement in a constructive way.

Molly is also active in other social media spheres including Facebook and Twitter. She is supportive…

Reviewer Spotlight: Hyper About Books

Originally posted on Lominec Lexicon:

Sumaira, at Hyper About Books, felt emotionally moved by Elemental Rancor.

“For me, a sign of a good book is whether it makes me cry, because this shows an emotional investment in the characters and story. There was one point in this story which nearly made me cry.”

The kindle version free promo is still live, so you can see what made Sumaira nearly cry.

Hyper About Books is the latest blog to review my book. I was searching through WordPress for book reviewers that specify fantasy/scifi and that specify if they accept review requests. If I’m going to ask someone to take their time to read and review my work, I owe to them to adhere to their review policy (if any).

Sumaira posts reviews and general musings of reading which include finding balance between reading and posting, if to forgive unfaithful characters, and even announcing when…

Reviewer Spotlight: It’s All About Books

Originally posted on Lominec Lexicon:

Yvo at It’s all About Books had this to say about Elemental Rancor.

“I was nothing other than impressed by the way Lominec was able to build a quite impressive fantasy world.”

“I also liked the philosophical touch of the story.”

The kindle version free promo is still live, so you can see why Yvo is “nothing other than impressed.”

I discovered It’s All About Books when Yvo liked a review of my book posted by another blogger, who I will be featuring in an upcoming post. **Suggestion for writers: check to see who is liking posted reviews of your book, there might be more potential reviews in that Liked list.**

What I discovered was an intelligent, educated, and globe-trotting lover of books. I allow myself a sliver of hope in humanity when I meet people like Yvo, who understand how critical literacy is to the development of people…

Reviewer Spotlight: Pour Over Parchment

Originally posted on Lominec Lexicon:

Cassie over at Pour Over Parchment had some nice things to say about Elemental Rancor:

“I have a science background, and loved that in this world, everything people did affected the elements, and the elements had the ability to react.”

“Overall, this was a great book, with a plot I wasn’t really expecting, and smaller story lines that made you wonder what was going to happen next.”

The free kindle promo for ER is live, and now you can see why Cassie thought it’s a “great book.”

Pour Over Parchment is an excellent place for writers and readers to visit. They are open for review requests from writers, and they help connect readers to good book deals and free promos through their “Books for a buck” link and their Facebook page. It’s an active site with games, contests, readers’ challenges, and their own YouTube channel. I wish…

A Thanks to the Bloggers Who Have Reviewed Elemental Rancor

I’m still at the point, in my journey as an author, where the value of a good review vastly exceeds the value of $2.99. It’s an understanding of that principle that leads to an appreciation for those who have taken the time to read my book, enjoy it, and say something nice about it on the internet. I also recognize the infinite number of books these people have to choose, and I’m grateful that they chose to dedicate some of their literary efforts to mine.

This is my week of thanks. Throughout the week, starting tomorrow, I will be featuring recent posts from these bloggers on Lominec Lexicon. Here are the sites I’ll be featuring.

Bloody Cake News

The Avid Reader

It’s All About Books

Woven Magic

Pour Over Parchment

Hyper About Books

Also, a free promo for the kindle version will go live tomorrow. So as you’re reading about why your peers like this book, you can get a free copy for your own reading and reviewing pleasure.
