Boat Bon Ami

Cathy R. from Portland, Maine asked:
“How did you stop from getting on each others nerves being in such tight quarters 24/7?”

“We didn’t! An isolated small boat in a big scary sea is a test of any relationship. In times of stress, expect frayed nerves, push-back and conflict. A proper Captain will put aside his or her feelings to maintain an atmosphere of trust and bon ami. Good luck with that. If that doesn’t work, try an arbitration technique that Wendy and I used frequently with universal success: humor. We have found that the worst battle of wills can be stopped dead in its tracks by one of us spontaneously saying something outrageously funny.”
