Your book might be the next Great American Novel . . . but you won't know that if you never release it for fear of imperfections. By all means, I am not suggesting self-publishing a book riddled with typos and made-up "facts." But every author I know has reached that point of thinking "I just need to go over this one more time." At some point you have to let go. Let go and share your gift with the world!(less)

I think any mother will understand that there are THOSE DAYS in which you question everything involved with your parenting. My goal is to not let days like those affect my writing. Experiencing a challenge here and there (or everywhere) does not mean I have nothing valuable to share with my readers. Perhaps 2015 is the year this thing gets finished!(less)

Amor Towles
“After all, what can a first impression tell us about someone we’ve just met for a minute in the lobby of a hotel? For that matter, what can a first impression tell us about anyone? Why, no more than a chord can tell us about Beethoven, or a brushstroke about Botticelli. By their very nature, human beings are so capricious, so complex, so delightfully contradictory, that they deserve not only our consideration, but our reconsideration—and our unwavering determination to withhold our opinion until we have engaged with them in every possible setting at every possible hour.”
Amor Towles, A Gentleman in Moscow

Philip Roth
“You’re somebody who has banished all superfluous sentiments from his life. No asinine longings to be home again. No patience for the nonessential. Only time for what’s indispensable.”
Philip Roth, American Pastoral
