“I felt like the Kansas girl who was picked up by that twister and set down in a dream.”

“And unlike most of our kin, he did not stay angry and blame white folk for his shortcomings like an adult child blames his once abusive parent.”
Noel Anenberg, The Dog Boy

“Like many of us, Pearl was an intelligent and angry woman trapped by the color of her skin.”

“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.

The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries.

We contend that for a nation to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle.

The whole history of the world is summed up in the fact that, when nations are strong, they are not always just, and when they wish to be just, they are no longer strong.”
Sir Winston Churchill

Leslie I was treated with being able to read Noel's journal notes about the first weeks after bringing his new Golden Retriever puppy Walter home. still laughing!! I'm looking forward to reading 'The Dog Boy'...written by one of the most thoughtful people I have ever had the privilege of meeting. Noel is truly a dog lover and understands the special gifts that only a dog can give us. Walter is a very lucky puppy!
