New Book

I've been working on finishing the Fairy Mafia series these days. I've also been putting together a new series--three short works of contemporary fiction. I hope.

With the Fairy Mafia series I have at least one more book after this one to finish tying together lose threads. These threads involve Jorja's family as well as Bridget. The story I am currently working on will take a closer look at Bridget. I might do a short work that focuses on Annas.

However, Annas has been extricated from the series in a small plot. However, I'm linking her with a character from Assassin's Core. I don't know if she'll get her own story or just share one with Alexi and Tia.

But I digress. Diamond Immortal is the current title. I've finished and I'm doing some editing. I'd like to share a few excerpts starting with this one. This one is from the opening of the book. Enjoy.

“After getting to know the women just a little bit, I think I can pull this off,” the tall golden skinned man said to the two others in the room. One was a male with dark skin and the other a female with olive skin.

“The trick to getting to her now lies in getting close to her family,” the woman said. “Not just her wife and children. Her human family. I don’t think she’s as detached from them as she’d like everyone to believe.”

“What if she is?” the dark-skinned male asked with a frown. “I’m not about hurting anyone who’s not apart of this.”

“We don’t need to hurt them,” the woman said. “We just need to infiltrate. Through them, we will have a path to her. She doesn’t need to do anything except what we want her to.”

“Which is?” the darker-skinned male asked.

Butterflies in Black Excerpt

Prologue

“You won’t believe this, Adam. I have the story of a lifetime,” she said excitedly. “Scratch that. I have three stories. This town is a hotbed of black magic, demon worship and people that shift into bugs.” She laughed. “Yes, you heard me right. Bugs. I’ve seen it, and I’ve got the most prominent families dead to rights.”

“What are we talking,” her brother asked carefully.

“One family is preparing to call up a demon for something, and another has a woman who’s a portal for a demon. I overheard this from the family of a girl I befriended.”

“That’s crazy. It’s—”

“No. I know. Her family is certain this girl is a portal for a demon and two other demons will be unleashed.” She laughed again.

“You’re kidding, right?” Adam demanded.
“This is good shit—”
“Frankie—”

“I have proof. Actual, hardcore, proof. I have the three doorways who are two other girls. I have pictures, and I have proof of that murder….”

“What murder?” Adam demanded.
“Trust me, Adam. This story is going to make my career—”

“I can get you a three-part series.”
“That isn’t what I want. I want to expose this town, those women, those families for the demon worshiping freaks they are…”

“What women?” Adam broke in, curiosity in his voice.

“You want names? One is Somali something. She has this relic inside of her that allows her to make—”

“A relic? Come on. You’re talking sci-fi movie of the week thirty years ago.”

“I’m not lying. This is real. I’ve seen her at the spa, and Kallie, her friend—these people are demons in waiting—”

What I'm Working On

I'm still working on the last Coyote Bound book. I'm nearly finished. I have maybe eight thousand words left.

This book is mainly about cleaning up some dangling ends. When I finish here, I'll be going back to Fairy Mafia for one last book to clean up the dangling Bridget ends.

Here is a snippet from the beginning. Kyra and Dylan are on their way home from dinner with their mates which was cut short. Their mates had an emergency leaving Kyra and Dylan to head home alone.

The truck hit them, and she was slammed forward as the air bags came out. The kiss of pain made Dylan’s face ache as fear made her heart race.
She couldn’t lose Kyra here.
Kyra groaned, and Dylan released her seatbelt.
“Come on Kyra,” she urged. “Come on.”

What I'm Working On

I've been busy in the last few weeks. I've finished my last Coyote Bound book. All that's left is for me to edit and send it off for consideration to Evernight has accepted Diamond and Gold the next to last Fairy Mafia book. I plan to close out that series next year with a story on Bridget.

I'm working on the last book in the Sensation series now. I hope to finish that this month. Once I finish, I'll write the last book in the Southern Blue Blood series. That should release next year.

As I said before, my goal is to finish some of ongoing series. So, I'll be working on that next year. I might sprinkle in a standalone or two as I go. Once I finish the SBB series I'm going to try to work on the Hellbound series. I had two more books for that to make a trilogy.

I'll also be working to finish Cozy Bend Romance series. Course, I want to finish Windswept. It's one of my favorites. I didn't mention finishing Assassin's Core because I am going to continue working on it. I have another book or two with Alexi. Then, I have a few other books. I might do those in a spin-off because they won't directly be about Alexi. She might be in them, but the story will focus on Devon, Cattail, Sax, and Zoe.

I'll be compiling a list for me to work from and I'll share that with you. The list will include the series I'm working to finish at any given time. I hope to work from that list in order, but I might now.

I didn't mention Law and Love, but I will be working on it. It's just at the bottom of the list right now. Course that could change.

Happy Reading

What I'm Working On

I finished Sensation 4 yesterday. I have a tentative title. A Damsel Rose. This book is about a rose shifter who has the ability to draw on the sun as well as the moon's energy thanks to her relic the rose seed.

The book will need some serious editing in some parts, but I'm like the story. It's an ending and a new beginning for the characters.

Here's a little excerpt.
“Industrial espionage?” Amaranth asked curiously. She knew it wasn’t unheard of, but it had never been a problem for them. “Who do you suspect?”

“I’m not sure yet but I do have a suspect I want you to check out.”
“Me? Rosemary, I’m no detective. Hire someone.”

“You have to do it since you’re already in a position to,” her sister said with a hard smile.
Amaranth shook her head slowly, not liking the look on her sister’s face. “Romy—”

“It’s nothing bad,” she cut in quickly. “You’re already in a position to slide right in under the radar.”

“Who do you think I’m supposed to get the answers from?” she demanded.
“Tasmina,” she said. “Who else?”
“Tasmina Redleaf?” The words came out on a squeak.

Chit Chat

This week has been an interesting one for me so far, but I've managed to get some editing done on the last Coyote Bound book. I've almost decided on a title. Coyote Justice or Coyote Fury.

Dylan is cleaning up the aftermath of IC's cartel and the intention of some stragglers to restart the cartel as well as trying to solve two murders, but finding the killers is a little less complicated than finding out who's behind the murders and why.

Here's an excerpt.
The sound of wolves behind them had Dylan’s heart beating hard. Kyra was flagging, after having fallen twice already. She knew Kira was bleeding because they’d left a bloody trail behind them.
“We’re going to have to go up,” Dylan said. “Can you climb?”
“I—”
“I’ll boost you,” Dylan cut in.
“That’s not going to help,” Kyra said, her breathing labored.
“She’s right,” a cold voice drawled from behind them.
Dylan turned her head, eyes night glow, in the dark allowing her to see a figured, but he wasn’t alone. Two other sets of eyes glowed in the dark of the wood.
“Tell Claudia and Montana Summer, they had their chance,” he said, voice rough. “Now, the gloves are off.” The gun went off, and Dylan’s heart stopped.
She couldn’t see the bullet as well as she’d like to, but she could track the scent of it, the gun powder an acrid tang that had her stomach clenching tight.
She shoved Kyra out of the way and the bullet slammed into her.
Dylan gasped but before she could react, the sound of a scream from Kyra told her this was it for them.
Dylan went down under the heavy body of a wolf whose teeth sank into her shoulder, but she refused to cry out as she tried to fight free.
A second wolf joined the first, tearing at her, shaking her hard as its teeth ravaged her arm.
Kyra wasn’t moving, not making a sound and they backed off her. Dylan decided the best way to give them a chance was to feign death, so she stopped fighting and went limp.
Darkness beckoned her, the pain intense. Dylan did fight it, but she slipped into its welcoming arms.
