Paul Dirac never made it clear - He did not want to reveal (or hide) his take on god. In a popular interview, he was asked whether he believed in god or not and his reply was very logical : "If earth is the only planet in the universe where life has evolved - then it is just a lucky chance that we exist - In such a grand universe, it always seemed more obvious that any other planet had life too - I would then believe in God. However, if there are several other planets where life has just evolved (just started) - then I say there is no god - because then each planet with life would have the same set of conditions necessary to support life - working within the laws of the universe ."
