What are you Thankful for?
As you prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving please remember to thank those who’ve inspired you, helped you, and if at all possible, reach out to those who may need a helping hand. It doesn’t take much effort to help those less fortunate. I know you can find a way. The world is suffering in many ways. So in the spirit of Thanksgiving remember to give THANKS for all that you have no matter how big or small. I’m truly blessed to have my health, and the love and support of my family. It’s been a tough year for our family with the passing of two wonderful women – my mother and my mother-in-law. Although our table will be short a few family members this year, I will still give thanks for what I do have, and will never take for granted anything in life, ever again. Life is too short. We must make the best of our time here, and remember: It’s much easier to be kind and thoughtful then mean and hateful. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Eat too much, sleep in the overstuffed easy chair, and have that extra slice of pie. You deserve it.
If you’re looking for a good book to read, may I recommend Ties That Bind? Although many of the characters are fictional, it is based on true events. I’ve been told it is an inspiring story, and it may even have you shedding a tear or two…
I also have a short story coming out as part of a multi-genre collection titled: Seasons. Look for it soon on Amazon and other fine retail outlets.
Best to you and yours during this holiday celebration.

National Memory Screening Week Nov 1-7, 2015
When a colleague came to me and asked if I’d like to support her, and some other authors in regard to promoting National Memory Screening Week, and specifically Alzheimer’s, I didn’t even hesitate. You see, my own mother-in-law recently passed away from Alzheimer’s. I know first hand how this disease can challenge families. I don’t claim to be an expert, far from it, but I do know it’s a topic worth discussing. So in honor of National Memory Screening Week, and the awareness of Alzheimer’s please follow this group of authors on their Facebook event page, and definitely check out their books. I personally read Marianne’s Blue Hydrangea’s. It was very good even if you’re not dealing with this disease.

FALL TIME
This is one of the nicest seasons no matter where you live. I love the red, orange and yellow leaves, and the crisp air that fall brings. I enjoy the cups of specialty coffee in the evening like pumpkin spice, or hazelnut. I like bowls of spicy chili topped with crumbled bacon and shredded cheese, and I love the smell of baked bread, and other baked items. Get the picture? Fall is all about the senses. I hope you take some time to enjoy the beauty this season brings. It really is lovely.

FREE BEER
So this might constitute as false advertisement. I’m not really giving away free beer, or free anything for that matter. What I am trying to do is get some traffic to my blog. I know the internet is a vast sea of blogs, websites, and the like. I get that. But, I’m just one little author trying to make it in the big world, and if just one person could acknowledge one of my posts, I’d be the happiest person in the world! So now that I have your attention, free beer or not, please take a look around. Like some posts, leave a comment, and share some on all your social media. You’ll sleep better tonight for having helped a whiny little author. I know…you’d sleep better if you had a few beer.

SAVE THE DOGS!!
I recently read a tee shirt that said “I don’t care who dies in the movies, as long as the dog lives.” I thought about that statement for a bit. I’m an avid animal supporter so I totally hate to see movies where Fido dies. I also don’t like to see movies where children get hurt, women get abused, and well…I guess I just don’t like violent movies. Having said that, I know many will point out that Disney movies have in the past had the main character (an animal) bite the dust. I remember seeing my children’s eyes tear up when Bambi lost her mother, I recall my own eyes tearing up when I watched Lion King, and well you get the point. As an author, I try to incorporate animals in all of my books. I try to make them comical, happy, and rescued! I have a couple of books sitting on my shelf right now about family pets (dogs) passing. I can’t bring myself to read them. You know which ones they are. They made the best seller list, I’m sure they’re good. I just can’t bring myself to read them. This brings us full circle to the topic at hand, the tee shirt I saw. I guess more appropriately the tee shirt should say, “I don’t care who dies in the movie, as long as it’s not the kids, the wife, the nice husband, or the pets.” That would be one big tee shirt!
If you haven’t purchased any of my books yet, what are you waiting for? I donate a percentage of all book sales to animal rescue. Now go on, save Fido! These are my babies, Dash and Briar. Aren’t they cute??

It’s Been A While…
I see that I haven’t posted or blogged about anything for over a month. Where does the time go? I have another blog, Authorsrevealed.blogspot.com that I do a lot of promotional work for fellow authors. You should check it out. I also can be found on facebook. I’m never sure how many people I reach with this blog page. Comments are few.
I recently lost my mother, and soon after, my mother-in-law. The passing of loved ones is never easy, not matter how prepared you think you are. It’s been a tough rough these past couple of months. I was so consumed with my mom’s daily care, that after she passed I didn’t know what to do with my free time. I’m still trying to figure that all out. I hope to get back to writing. I have a WIP that mom was helping me with. I’ll have to end it my own way. It is loosely based on her mysterious “adoption” and the secrets surrounding it. I personally think it makes for great reading. I hope the public will agree. I was toying with the idea of submitting it to a publishing house. If there are any publishing houses out there reading this… get with my agent. Just kidding. Get with me.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer. Spend time with your family, and loved ones. Make sure you let the people in your life know how special they are. Life is too short.

CLEAN ROMANCE BOOKS – A THING OF THE PAST?
Let me just start my little post by saying, I’M NOT A PRUDE! I just enjoy great romantic reads that let my imagination run wild. Books are like coffee…different blends for different folks. I like my blonde roast from Starbucks – a lighter roast, while others will enjoy the more robust flavors of Pikes Peak. I like my romance novels to be a bit on the lighter side too. Now, don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing like a great romance scene to get the blood pumping, and the fingers itching to turn the page. I love those kinds of books. I don’t need the raw, graphic sexual scenes. I know how it’s done. If you enjoy reading clean romance, consider checking out one of my books.
An excerpt from The Pet Palace
He pulled her close. Reaching for her lips with his, he began softly searching for her sweet spot. She let out a groan, letting him know he was pleasing her. He kissed her with a bit more force, fueling their desire. He reached his hand under her sweater and gently caressed her flesh. Soon, they were undressing under the moonlit sky and, as they collapsed in each other’s arms, in the distance, a coyote howled. Amazon
