Louis Borek is a typical American, born and raised in a rough section of Brooklyn, (East New York) in the 1940s. He tells short stories of his exciting experiences growing up on the streets. Highlighting the many ways, children improvised with inexpensive games, his continuous and resourceful ways to earn money, and love for family.

Louis articulates involvements with block busting realtors, street gangs, encounters with the law, street brawls and members of the mob, along with the good times. He describes the vulnerabilities on construction jobs, the loss of friends and the heartaches of owning a construction company while dealing with greedy clients and the powerful unions.
