My mother encouraged me to write diaries in childhood because that improved language, handwriting and spellings. Since then I write because that's like documenting myself as I exist, with my body. With the books, I have started documenting myself as I exist with my mind. Thus today, my dreams and fantasies too have a real, collective world; because the readers live those with me.(less)

Valentines Stories :)

Valentines Day is about falling in love. And perhaps remembering and celebrating the love we are blessed to have received all our lives.
"Love!" A strange word, the meaning of which no one knows perfectly; an experience and expression that everyone interprets with their own limited capacities.
I celebrate love today, not a writer but as a reader, and as a receiver of stories from many different so Read more of this blog post »

“One lifetime. So many memories. So many people to love. Only one heart.”
Koral Dasgupta, Draupadi: The Sati Series III

“A mother is another name for unyielding, aggressive power. She is the embodiment of indulgence and restraint. She is the keeper, the protector. She restricts to keep all harm away. She beholds the baby with her softness, yet forms a tough cast around it to keep intruders at bay. She is the first teacher starting the learning process in confinement, by sharing the system of body and life even before the baby is born. She is the form of knowledge that results from reflex.”
Koral Dasgupta, Ahalya

“She called it 'Sati'. A pursuit to remain loyal and committed to one's truth and never deflect by greed or guile. To own up with conviction and turn away from deceit. To recognize the voice of the self without pretence and resist being touched by alien assassins inducing cynicism. To express with dignity, to comprehend in totality. To love without reservations. To give and not be affected by the pride of giving. To know, to value, to rise, to shine. To find the joy of life in little nothings. To identify beauty in the mundane.”
Koral Dasgupta, Ahalya

“Ok! So that's the spice. Typical gossips for or against a qualified newcomer!”
Koral Dasgupta, Fall Winter Collections

“I am trying to sell beauty.
Worst that you can do to me is not buy it!”
Koral Dasgupta, Fall Winter Collections
