Tammy was raised by a pack of German Shepherds in the middle of the desert without luxuries like electricity. It was during that time that she began to study art, literature, science, and engineering. She grew an interest in rocketry, building motorcycles, and drawing pinup art. In pursuit of blending the aesthetics of fiction with science, Tammy has a bachelor’s degree in space engineering (because: rocket science). Tammy’s creativity drives her stories and her technical know-how makes them come alive.

Sorry I'm just now getting to your question (I'll admit, I'm bad at technology and Goodreads, which is probably the answer the the least valuable thing I learned from the German Shepherds; I've had to catch up to the technological learning curve on my own!!)

The most valuable thing I learned from them would probably be the importance of nature. Being raised in the desert provided me a unique opportunity to see the importance of living in symbiosis with the ecosystem. Being able to be self-reliant by working with nature, instead of plowing it all down or finding ways to destroy it to meet one's own ends, is an important perspective that a lot of people don't get to experience first hand like I did. I cherish those memories, and carry with me the lessons I learned, and it's all thanks to the German Shepherd pack who raised me in the desert. :)(less)

I think last time I had issues getting the words to flow, I made a huge cup of coffee, chewed on some gummy bears, and doodled up some wild things.
I think resetting my mind creatively is key; it's easier to let my brain think of where to take the story next if it doesn't feel restricted.

As a result, I get sketchbooks filled with weird stuff, like robots and tentacled people....(less)

Frank Herbert
“I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”
Frank Herbert, Dune

Douglas Adams
“The story so far:
In the beginning the Universe was created.
This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.”
Douglas Adams, The Restaurant at the End of the Universe

Tom Waits
“I've lost my equilibrium, my car keys, and my pride.”
Tom Waits

Tom Waits
“I like beautiful melodies telling me terrible things.”
Tom Waits

Robert A. Heinlein
“A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.”
Robert A. Heinlein
