Angele Mort was born in Ottawa, Canada and grew up in several provinces and states in the US. She began her professional career in theatre, studying costume construction and design. After several years she decided that theatre was not right for her and began studying biology in hopes of pursuing a career in veterinary science.

In 2004 Angele created the outline for what would become her first novel in the Evaria series; A Raven's Flight. For several years she toyed with the story and its characters as a hobby and a way to pass the time. In 2006 Angele decided to take her hobby to the next level and began writing the first draft of her novel.
