"To Hold the Sky" is meant to be a representation of the human spirit which pulls us and calls us to reach out beyond our grasp...to hold that which is not obtainable. Society strives with expressions of "The Sky is the Limit" meaning that all possibilities and capabilities are endless in an infinite and ever changing world. We know that the ends of the Heaven's will never be in sight, it is like chasing a rainbow in the sky which you cannot touch. However, through a crystal you can light that prism of color directly onto your own skin. Instantly, what you thought you could not touch actually touches you!

I hope to be a messenger of that light and color which touches you. My poetry, photography, charcoal sketches, oil and mixed media artworks all have a similar vein running through them. My work focuses on life, death, prayer, gentility, fragility, distance, time, space, echoes, angels, spirituality and the elements of the natural world such as earth, wind, water and fire.
To Hold the Sky Studios is meant to make people look up to the heavens *as all poets and dreamers do. For the sky has no limit to its power, it’s majestic beauty. It’s presence is always felt wherever we may go. It is the realm of eternity which reaches onto forever and ever, it is the nest of the stars and the fulfilling of our heart’s dreams and desires. There is a piece in each of us which exists so strongly that it leaves an impression, a picture, a poem, a life * an echo , a ripple... a forever touch which can never truly burn out or fade away. These artistic thoughts are the essence of the journey of life here on earth, where we try 'To Hold the Sky'.
Some of my poetry has been published by the International Library of Poetry, Cader Publishing, Famouspoets Society, The Hollins Album, The Mc Gregor Publishing Company, The Illiad Press, The National Library of Poetry, The Amherst Society, and World Poetry Movement.

These are truly beautiful words to surrender to * Thank you Amelia

your thoughtfulness is treasured.

Follow the roads

that enlighten your soul

that inspire your heart

to put life before gold

believe in yourself

chase your dreams

never strive to appease

those who breed

misery

or demise

attempt to unfurl

to unravel your soul

from the tiniest acorns

great oak trees are born

Stop by, recommend books, offer up poems (excerpted), tempt us, taunt us, tell us what to read and where to go (to read it!) If the poet doesn’t wish to revise, let the poet abandon poetry and take up stamp-collecting or real estate.” —Donald Hall “Poetry is a rich, full-bodied whistle, cracked ice crunching in pails, the night that numbs the leaf, the duel of two nightingales, the sweet pea that has run wild, Creation’s tears in shoulder blades.” —Boris Pasternak “Wanted: a needle swift enough to sew this poem into a blanket.” —Charles Simic “Language is a cracked kettle on which we beat out tunes for bears to dance to, while all the time we long to move the stars to pity.” —Gustave Flaubert “Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It’s that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that’s what the poet does.” —Allen Ginsberg. ~~~~~ Amy King, Moderator Amy King is the recipient of the 2015 Winner of the WNBA Award (Women’s National Book Association).
