STORIES TO BE WRITTEN

It's been a while since I did a blog post and I am excited to share my plans going forward on this one.

Every January and after I publish a new book, I always talk about what is next. Its weirdly exhilarating and a bit depressing because I am so eager to get to all the new stories. And I am such a slow writer I know its going to be a few years before I get them out. Even the stories with the rough drafts already written. This time I will talk about them from the already written stories and then the half written and then the new ideas.

Next up will be Zenze. Its written but still needs a lot of work. I am going to take some time to read the first two books before I continue revising. There are some small details I don’t want to get wrong.

After Zenze I want to work on the fantasy trilogy I started writing way back in 2010. I parked it for when my skill could do justice to the story. And finally, I feel ready to tackle them again.

Then I have two contemporaries already written. One needs some revising and the other one some serious rewriting. But I am excited to get back to them.

After that I have a steampunk trilogy with brilliant parts written but at the time I wrote it I didn’t know how to develop the characters and that got parked too. But now I am so ready to dig into them I am salivating.

Every Monday I am posting a page of an old story I wrote very very long ago. I had to smile as I posted it because there is a lot of the Zyrgins in there. Eventually I will fix that but I have not decided if I want to keep it in seriel form or if I will break it up into different books. It needs some serious rewriting.

On the Zyrgin front I have two more books to write after Zenze. The scars will be five books. Then I will move onto the unclaimed galaxies. Soon to be claimed by some Zyrgins! I have no idea how many books that series will have. I am writing bits and pieces of it as it comes to me. I can’t wait to dive into it. Then It will be Zorlof’s story. I have some of it written. At the moment I think Zorlof’s story will be told over three books. But I am not sure yet. There is quite a few short stories I need ot finish and some ideas I need to get down.

The next Cyborg story will be Arakhu’s spy and then Nebuchadnezzar’s story. I love the cyborg world and can’t wait to dive into them. Though I am going to take my time with them.

Then there is a short story set on another planet. It will be called thirteen little aliens. It still needs some revising and I can’t wait to share it with everyone. I will work on it as I have bits of time free. This year is a busy one at the office so I will have to grab my writing time where I can.

Eventually I want to write the stories of Breona’s two cousins, the heroine in Three vampires and a Baby.

Then I have a space opera I write bits of every now and then, and a series about either mercenaries or private investigators. I am really excited about their stories.

There a quite a bit of short stories I want to finish and publish and some more ideas I want to develop. But that is what I can share for now.

TUNRIAN CYBORGS

After literally years of having the first cyborg book published I'm getting to the rest of the books at last.
The series will have six books.

The cyborgs are from a planet called Tunria. They were created by the clones who rule Tunria and when they showed signs of having souls, the clones decided to exterminated them. They stole a space ship and escaped and ended up orbiting earth.

The first book in the series, Dawn of the Cyborg, is currently marked down to 99c at most of the online venues. It is the story of Aurora who is forced to go to the alien space ship when the cyborg in charge, Balthazar, demands she be sent to him or he will continue to bomb earth.

I posted quite a few excerpts on my facebook author page. I've numbered them so it should be easy to find and to read in order.
The second book is Anatu of the Human. It is going through final edits and is up for pre-order. This is the story of the cyborg Anatu who volunteers to go to earth and marry the president of United Earth. I was worried about writing a female cyborg, but once she decided to show herself it felt as if the story wrote itself. She really surprised me and I hope the readers like her as much as I do.

The third book is Amukkan's Prize and its the story of Marysol. In the first book they abduct a human woman to cook for Aurora. The rough draft of the this book is done and it goes to the developmental editor beginning July. I can't wait to see the cover and to share it with everyone.

I have bits and pieces written of the next three books.

Book four is the story of Agrippa and Amelagar. Amelagar is the cyborg badly wounded in Dawn of the Cyborg. He is slowly regenerating his whole body while Agrippa watches over him. In the first book Amelagar found Agrippa, a Tunrian stowaway and its clear he does not have any love for Tunrians. On Tunria the clones rule and the naturals who have children instead of cloning themselves are second class citizens. This does not matter to Amelagar. To him she is no better than a clone. I can't wait to find out more about their story.

Book five is the story of Arakhu and a computer programmer. I have some details on their book but not enough to say anything more.

Books six is Nebuchadnezzar and Ter's story. Can I just say I love his name. When I had to pronounce that name in bible class as a child I never thought I'd one day use it as the name for the hero in a book.I have quite a bit of their story written, but at this stage I can't talk about it. Anatu of the HumanNebuchadnezzar is Balthazar's second in command and Ter is the sister of Aurora. Ter was freed from slavery in the first book.

ALIEN RESCUE IS ALMOST HERE

I thought by the time I got to Alien Rescue it would be a quick easy write.
Then COVID happened and we had a lockdown that stretched into four long months. It became a long depressing winter and although I wrote, I wasn't happy with anything I put on the page.
It feels like it took forever, but I love this story and I can't wait for everyone to read it. Rose and Zanr are perfect together.

Although this book slots in at number four in the series, this is the last book in the Zyrgin Warrior Series. Though I am not done with the Zyrgin's yet. I have written a bit of the Zyrgin Scars which will be five books, then the stories of Zacar's brothers in the unclaimed galaxies and the series that will start with Zorlof.

Next up will be the five cyborg books that will finish the Tunrian Cyborgs series.

I hope everyone enjoys Zanr and Rose's story as much as I did.

EXCERPT

In Rose’s dreams she proved herself, but then the dream twisted, turning into a nightmare. She begged Parnell to let her out of that shallow grave and he scorned her, telling her she wasn’t worthy, would never be good enough.
This time in her nightmare, a strange-looking being haunted her dream, as well. The strange man-being was dressed in a metal uniform and had a green-and-copper face. He kept her trapped inside a large cube made from the same silver as his uniform. She screamed and screamed, but no one knew she was trapped. She was back in the suitcase, unable to move, and her kidnappers ignored her screams.
“Quiet, my breeder, you are all right,” the silver man-being said, in a voice like electrified lightning. His shiny uniform made her eyes water. She gratefully gave in to the darkness.
Someone held a cup to her lips. She was thirsty, but she wanted to sleep. “G’way, man-being, wanna sleep.”
“Drink, my breeder.” She remembered that voice—shouldn’t trust him—cool water on her tongue, and she drank greedily. Something about his words was wrong, but she couldn’t figure out what nagged at her.
She fell asleep mid-swallow.
Rose woke, and if she were stronger, she’d have jumped from the bed and run to a water source. Spiders tugged at her hair. She tried to lift her arm to brush them off, but she was too weak. Rose moaned; she hated spiders and creepy things with too many legs. They always found their way into the hole whenever she tried to prove herself.
“Calm, my breeder.” The voice was deep and belonged to the silver-and-gold devil. “I killed the spiders. They cannot harm you.” He said, sounding resigned, as if he’d told her that many times before.
“Nice man-being,” she murmured and patted him, then fell asleep.
The next time she woke, the metal-clad stranger was doing something to her hair. Normally she didn’t like anyone messing with her hair, but it was strangely soothing. She fell asleep before she even finished the thought.
She woke, and she didn’t know how, but she knew she’d woken many times before in this silver place. But now her brain was clear. Something with lots of big, white teeth, bigger and sharper than human teeth, stared down at her. “Crocodiles are extinct.”
“That is a very interesting fact, my breeder. You are a clever female.” He patted her head, and if she didn’t feel so weak, she’d have bitten his hand.
“Are you going to eat me? I don’t think I’ll make good crocodile food. You want to look for someone with more meat on their bones.” Never had she been so grateful for being on the scrawny side.
A loud sigh. “I am not a crocodile. I will not eat you, my breeder. Drink this water—no, don’t spit it out.”
She woke again and the crocodile held her upright. Rose stared up at him. He wasn’t even remotely like the picture of the crocodile she once saw. He was tall and muscled, really well built, with wide shoulders and narrow hips. Even the bone structure in his face was good. Strong and masculine, his recessed ears somehow fit him, and the ridge on his head gave him a dangerous appearance without making him look creepy. She squinted and it hurt to do even that.
His face contorted, became mixed up in her nightmares where he wasn’t humanlike. “Not a crocodile, a Komodo dragon.” That was what he was. She was sure of it. Somehow they didn’t become extinct like they said on that program on the TC. They’d survived in isolation on that island and had evolved into man-beings. She weakly patted the claw holding a silver cup. In dreams you could pat a dragon. “Nice dragon.” Darkness took her again.
When she woke again, she tried to rub her itching nose and stared in horror at her arms. Her hands were gone. Eaten up by the dragon. She burst into loud tears.
“Why are you crying?” the upright-walking Komodo dragon asked her as if it was nothing that he’d eaten her hands.
“You ate my hands. I want to touch my nose, because it itches, and you ate my hands, you horrible Komodo dragon, and now I can’t touch anything.”
She thought she heard him sigh. “I have told you, I am not a dragon and I didn’t eat your hands. If I wanted to eat you, I’d go for the softer bits.”
She clutched her arms over her stomach, and he gave another loud sigh and reached down and pulled up the sleeves of the flannel pajamas she wore. “See, here are your small hands—safe.”
Rose beamed at him. “You didn’t eat my hands.” She giggled. “My pajamas ate them.” Something was very wrong with her. Even in her dreams, she never giggled.
“You are pleasingly small, my breeder, but it is difficult to find clothes to fit you. Most of them seem to eat you.”
“Dragons have flannel pajamas? Who knew?” She slept again, vaguely aware of the dragon tugging on her hair again.

Alien Redeemed Released

At last its release day for Alien Redeemed. I've been looking forward to sharing the story with everyone.

I have excerpts of the first three chapters on my facebook author page for anyone who want to read a sample before deciding if it was their kind of story.

Of course I planned to only have six books in the original series and then some spin offs. Then Zanr and Rose started talking to me periodically. If they'd just been consistent I could've written their story after Alien Betrayed and slotted it in where it belonged. But no, they hid from me every time I tried to write their story. Alien Rescue will be out late next year and will be book 4.

I hope everyone enjoys Sarah and Zaar as much as I did. I kept wanting to linger and add more to their story.

THE LAST BOOK IN THE ZYRGIN WARRIORS SERIES IS UP FOR PRE-ORDER

I don't want to check the dates, because then I am sure I will see it's been more than a year since Alien Captured came out.

Which means I've been working on Alien Redeemed for about that time. I always knew what would happen in Alien Redeemed and I had this sunny belief that this would be an easy book to write. Boy was I wrong! I've rewritten and started over and cursed and prayed a lot during the process.

But it's up for pre-order at long last!

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07...

This is the last book in the series though there will be a spin off series. And of course I will write Zanr and Rose's story. Theirs will be book four. I planned to have six books from the beginning. Then at the end of Alien Betrayed, Zanr rescued a small woman unconscious in a parking lot and I knew I had to write their story. I planned a novella. They were so alive in my head I started writing their story even before I handed in Alien Betrayed. And they went away, hiding from me whenever I wanted to tell their story. So I dutifully went ahead with Alien Resistance, planning to do the novella at a later time.

While I wrote Alien Captured, I knew Alien Rescue would be a full book, because that's what Zanr and Rose deserve, so here I am, with book number four not yet written and book number seven up for pre-order.

A quick word about what is coming next. Keep in mind that I put out one or two books a year. So while I will get to these books I'm about to mention, I can't promise when it will be out, even though I'm giving estimated dates.

Alien Redeemed - up for pre-order, release date 29 October 2019

Alien Rescue - sometime during 2020

Next Cyborg book sometime during 2020

Zyrgins beyond the unclaimed Galaxies

Zyrgin in time novellas - Melisende and the Star Warrior is out in the Wedding Season novella

Zyrgin scars

The next book in the mystic warriors series

I've got loads more in my head and half written and pieces of ideas lying around, but that is what I plan more or less for the next two years.

Melisende and the Star Warrior is out in the Wedding Season anthology and the anthology is only 99c at the moment. It will be for a limited time so if you want to read about a time travelling Zyrgin in medieval times, grab a copy. All proceeds will go to charity and ROSA. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07...

ZYRGIN NOVELLA

I have a novella in the ROSA Wedding Season Anthology. I loved writing this short story though I stressed a lot about writing in that format.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07...
Wedding Season: a collection of romance reads
Anyone who read the series will remember a few aliens went into the past with a time machine. My hero ended up in medieval France and you can just imagine how much he enjoyed primitive humans!

Here is the blurb.

Melisende and the Star Warrior – Marie Dry

In medieval France, Melisende, a noble woman, is kidnapped from her wedding by a strange being who claims to be a warrior from the stars. But after this sexy warrior shows her wondrous things like computers and synthesizers, Melisende’s not so sure she wants to escape her alien captor.

I also wanted to talk a little about Alien Redeemed. Many readers contacted me, asking me when it will come out. I deleted about half the manuscript after I thought it was done and had to rewrite most of it. I am doing a last once over and then it will go to the editor. The cover reveal will happen first.

This anthology has some excellent stories and I spent a whole evening just reading and enjoying all the different stories.

All the proceeds go to charity and I am very proud of what we've accomplished. We have tentatively agreed to do it again next year.

The Fire Inside – Romy Sommer

Firefighter Sam Redfern is quite happy being ‘just one of the boys’. Until TV talent scout and celebrity, Ryan Morgan, shows up for a wedding in her sleepy Lake District village, making her feel very much like a woman—a woman with needs.

A Love Lost – Alissa Baxter

Cruel circumstances separated young sweethearts, Jane and Miles. Now, a decade later, they unexpectedly meet again, and the devastating memories come rushing back. Will they rediscover their lost love, or will the bridge back to one another be impossible to traverse?

Picture Perfect – Sophia Karlson

Professional photographer, Hayley, has a lot on her plate at a celebrity wedding, so having one of the groomsmen mess with her focus is really the last thing she needs…or is it?

Priest – Suzanne Jefferies

Billy Jorge has to face his demons before they destroy him. He’s set to marry Max, the woman of his dreams, but his past still haunts him. How can he renounce one promise to make another?

Promises of Forever – Natasha Anders

June and Lincoln Taylor’s marriage is buckling—June wants a divorce and Linc wants another chance. Will the magic of her sister’s wedding pave the way for a fresh start? Or is it the beginning of the end for them?

Under the Highland Sky – Tanya Wilde

Spirited, beautiful and entirely convinced she is being dangled on a string, Dianna O’Donnell arrives at Murray Castle for one purpose and one alone—to break off her engagement with Alasdair Murray, rude, imperious, and the fourth Duke of Castleworth. But things are seldom what they seem and rarely ever do they go according to plan. Will her resolve stay steadfast? Or will this Scottish lass fall for the rugged Highlander all over again?

Houdini’s Hack – Sharonlee Holder

Melissa St. John has her life together and a job she loves managing the new branch of her family bakery. Until a pockmarked Pitbull with one ear and half a tail destroys her frosted bachelorette cupcake delivery—and brings Wade ‘Hack’ Laubscher back into her life, offering them both a second chance.

Melisende and the Star Warrior – Marie Dry

In medieval France, Melisende, a noble woman, is kidnapped from her wedding by a strange being who claims to be a warrior from the stars. But after this sexy warrior shows her wondrous things like computers and synthesisers, Melisende’s not so sure she wants to escape her alien captor.

Cut The Cake – Ashleigh Giannoccaro

Occupied! – Jo Watson

There are a few things you need to know about Amantha: 1. She hates weddings. 2. She never wears dresses and 3-5. She hates Jack Emory. Unfortunately for her, she now finds herself locked in a bathroom with him at her sister’s wedding, all thanks to that stupid dress she was forced to wear.

DAWN OF THE CYBORG IS ALMOST HERE

From the moment it went on pre-order I had to pinch myself several times this week to believe that this book is finally hitting the shelves. I started writing Dawn of the Cyborg years ago. It was at about thirty pages and then I moved and didn't think to make back ups or to print it out or email it to myself. Of course the computer crashed and I lost all my ideas and half written manuscripts. After that I was more careful, but managed to lose the Cyborg story two more times. It took a few years before I came back to it and this time I religiously backed up and printed out everything I did every day.

It feels as if its been a decade since I started that first very rough draft and I get this wonderful warm feeling every time I see the beautiful cover that Jack designed and realize I actually did it after all the backup disasters that happened while I wrote it.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07...

A reader who received an ARC from Black Opal Books asked me if the other characters will get their own books. I had this moment of panic when I realized that I knew most of their stories and what will happen in future books, but I have no idea who is next. They are all shouting equally hard. Fingers crossed that when I start writing it one couple will jump higher than the others.

I'm off to work on Alien Redeemed, the next book in the Zyrgin Warriors series.

I hope everyone enjoy the book as much as I enjoyed writing it.Dawn of the Cyborg

DAWN OF THE CYBORG IS UP FOR PRE-ORDER

Last night I rewrote the opening scene of Alien Redeemed for the hundredth time. And for the first time in months I was happy with what I wrote. Until I get the opening chapter right, nothing else seems to fall quite in place.

Then this morning I checked as a matter of course if Dawn of the Cyborg is up for pre-order. I didn't think it would be so imagine my pleased surprise when it popped up. The Weirdest thing is the mental shift I had to do to focus on the cyborg book again.

I can't wait to share my cyborgs with anyone and its only about fourteen days before its out.

DAWN OF THE CYBORG

I received the blurb for Dawn of the Cyborg from Black Opal Books and I'm so excited to share it. I hope everyone love Balthazar and Aurora as much as I did. Its an interesting time to write about any kind of A.I. and Cyborgs with the recent advances in robotics. I suspect a lot of the issues we deal with in fiction now will become fact in the next twenty years.

Release date: 1 September 2018

BLURB

On a future earth, Aurora has been desperately searching for her long-lost sister, when she is sacrificed to Balthazar, leader of the fearsome Cyborgs who invaded earth. Now she is stuck on an alien spaceship with a crazy Cyborg who thinks she can give him a soul and who has a weird fixation with the way she moves. Aurora is desperate to return to earth to search for her sister while the president of United Earth insists that only she can save earth from enslavement by the cyborgs. After spending time with the cyborgs, Aurora realizes that the machine she thought would be easy to betray, the machine she has to betray, if she ever wants to rescue her sister from enslavement, has turned into a man she could come to love.
