Writer or Marketing Genuis?

This blog is for authors!
OK you wrote a great book. Or think you did, for that matter. Greatest piece of
advice I ever received was from Laura Waage. She said to send my book to a bunch of people for seasoning. I sent it to my kids, best selling authors and my friends.
Thank goodness, everyone had a hand in
pointing out my frailties. Why did you write, this, this sounds stupid etc etc.
They all were right.
I made the corrections
You will live and die by your reviews.
You cannot control your reviews.
Bad reviews bad book.
You must market your book. You must keep
your book alive.
Why?
Because nobody else will.
Your mother for a month or two.
Although, I was lucky enough to meet some people along the way that kept my book alive.
Thanks Bruce Chambers.
Thanks Randy Kaplan.
Thanks Jeffrey Gitomer.
Thanks Elaine.
Thanks Peter Shankman.
Thanks Chris Messina.
Thanks Uncle Murray.
Thanks Chris Vaccaro.
Yesterday I passed Unbroken on the number two top rated book on Amazon (Sports and Outdoors.
99 percent of Authors sell 300 books or less. So I have read.
When I wrote my book I had no idea what the hell I was doing.
Marketing my book I knew even less.
When Jeffrey Gtomer who has sold five million books said he would help me,
I told him I would jump off the roof of my house holding the book.
If that was his suggestion.
Don't forget your high school and college.
They love to know a former student is now an author.
So if you are an author, or want to be, writing a book is a bear.
Marketing your book is a monster.
Find your My. Rushmore, find your book team, and listen to them.
Your mother can only get you so far.
