Kathy and Heathcliffe from Wuthering Heights, Scarlett O'Hara and Rhett Butler from Gone With the Wind and Louis and Lestat from Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles. I like relationships with a bit of darkness and danger, I suppose. Ones that face plenty of challenges, through which you still feel the strength of the bond, even if it ends up as something closer to hate than love, or a mix of both.(less)

A Very Spooky Substack

I’ve gone and done something very new and a little scary and started a Substack.

Thank you everyone on WordPress who has followed and supported me through the years. It really has been wonderful. Your encouragement and feedback has been invaluable and I feel I’ve grown so much as a writer being part of this community. But it felt time to tip my toe into something a little different.

"I hated this book. And I'm saying this as a person who has spent most of this year reading, listening to, and watching adaptations of Stephen King's work. I really, truly, hated this book.

The whole thing was just unrelentingly dull from first to last" Read more of this review »

“People like to say, ‘War is hell.’ Well, that saying’s true. I’ve seen it. But the saying’s also bullshit, because it ignores a truth that’s bigger – life is hell. Life is hell, Honey, and war just attracts people who’ve learned to chase the flames a little.”
