Nicolas Dierks received his PhD in Philosophy from the Leuphana University of Lueneburg, Germany. His main theoretical concern has been the question, why the New is so important in our modern culture and the arts.

He is currently working in the philosophy of science and on the ways, in which we all make sense of our lives by making up stories about ourselves.

Living in the city of Bremen with his family, he often visits the Northern Sea and enjoys good espresso.
