Katherine Sherbrooke is the award-winning author of Leaving Coy's Hill (May, 2021) , a New York Times notable book which was short-listed for the MA Book Awards, Fill the Sky, a finalist for the Mary Sarton Award and the winner of an Indies book of the year award, and a family memoir, Finding Home (2011). An alumna of Dartmouth College and Stanford Business School, she wanted to be an author from the time she opened her first book, and lived on books like food and water for a long time. Somewhere along the line, though, she caught the start-up bug and co-founded a Boston based company called Circles. I heard Walter Mosely say that writing is a "subconscious art" and so every day you are in the story, you go down a level deeper. It only takes a couple of days away from the writing to get pulled completely out. It's TRUE! Even 20 minutes a day allows you to tap into a section of your brain that knows the story better than you do! (less)

Up…moreI was researching names for a different novel and began to search for something along the lines of strong women in history who have been forgotten. Up popped the name "Lucy Stone." I had never heard of her, and yet she was the first woman to speak out regularly for women's rights and one fo her speeches inspired Susan B. Anthony to get involved in the movement. I was fascinated and kept reading and reading about her...until I realized that her story was the book I needed to write. She is the protagonist of Leaving Coy's Hill(less)
