September Wrap Up

What did you read in September?

I read 12 books in September, including Stone Yard Devotional and The Safekeep, which means I've now read all of this year's Booker shortlist. James by Percival Everett is my personal favourite, with Orbital by Samantha Harvey as my second choice. I enjoyed everything I read in September, but my book of the month is The Undetectables. Another page-turning mystery starring the irresistible Vera Wong, although be warned that one of this book’s storylines is darker than your usual cosy fare.

This cosy mystery had me hooked from start to finish, and it was a delight to be back in the company of these characters. Although I couldn’t help noticing a few mistakes a proofreader really should have picked up on.

I still don’t quite get all the fuss about Catriona Ward, but I did enjoy the way reading this book felt like the ground was shifting beneath my feet.
