September Wrap Up

What did you read in September?

I read 12 books in September, including Stone Yard Devotional and The Safekeep, which means I've now read all of this year's Booker shortlist. James by Percival Everett is my personal favourite, with Orbital by Samantha Harvey as my second choice. I enjoyed everything I read in September, but my book of the month is The Undetectables. An enjoyable, if bizarre, read which follows an actor hired to wear a black bag to psychology lectures and seminars as part of an experiment. I particularly liked the depiction of the protagonist trying to make a living as an actor.

Once I got into this one, I found it difficult to put down. But as much as I loved the representation of queerness, I otherwise found All Them Dogs a surprising addition to the Booker longlist.
