Happy National Novel Writing Month to all who participate and to those who don't partake in it! This will be my second year contributing to it. Let's hope I write something better than what I've written previously. One can only get better in their writing but never truly see perfection.

“She doesn’t stick around long before trudging back to her room and slamming the door behind her. Snatching a new cigarette and her lighter, she lights it up, the glow illuminating her face. She sits on the couch and stares at the ceiling, legs crossed. I wonder if I’m somewhere worse than the Plant. Gray tendrils cloud her vision and she falls asleep to the smell of nicotine and water.”
