New Book - Restricted Fantasies
So at long last, I've finished up my short story sci-fi collection, Restricted Fantasies, and the e-book version is now available on Amazon! Print coming soon, and working on audio. If you like Black Mirror, you might like this.
The blurb:
Are you living in a simulation?
If you aren’t now, you soon will be. The technology is fast approaching, and within our lifetimes the vast majority of humanity may be plugged into their own private worlds, living out dreams indistinguishable from reality.
It sounds like a paradise. But even paradise has its price.
Restricted Fantasies is a collection of short stories about lives lived inside and outside of virtual reality. The advent of simulated realities raises questions of philosophy and technology that drive at the core of our nature as humans—and in the tradition of classic sci-fi, the stories in this collection wrestle with these questions and with the shape of things to come.
You’ll meet a child protective services agent tasked with rescuing children being raised by Neo-Nazis in an illegal simulation of their own darkest fantasies.
You’ll meet a man who discovers the cheat code to our reality—and watch as it all goes horribly wrong.
You’ll go on a futuristic Rumspringa with an Amish woman who lives it up in virtual reality for a few years before deciding whether to go home to the last unplugged community on Earth.
You'll peek into the lives of virtual reality addicts, aliens, and mad billionaires.
And you’ll journey into Sim-Sing, a simulated prison with a very unpleasant jailer.
Whether you’re a fan of classic sci-fi or not, if you’ve ever wondered whether the things around you are real, whether The Matrix was just a movie, and where the line is between reality and fantasy, you’ll love this glimpse into a future that may yet come—and that may already be here.

Third book in They Who Fell series released: Adversary
The last book in the They Who Fell series, Adversary, is now out on Amazon!
The Kindle version is available here:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0727MYMMC/
The print version is still being processed, but should be available in a day or two. The audiobook will probably be more like August or so. Thanks to everyone for reading, and I'll post here on some other stuff I'm working on probably later in the year!

Draft Done for Third Book in They Who Fell Series
So at long last, I've finally finished up the draft of the last book in the They Who Fell series. Sorry again for this taking longer than expected - part of that was having to take time off last year from computer use because of carpal tunnel, and part is that it's going to be longer than the others (around 120,000 words versus 80,000-ish for the other two).
As far as when it should be out, I've still got some editing to do, but I'm hoping to have it on sale by the first couple of weeks in April. Mostly that depends on the schedule of the guys who do the cover and formatting, so I won't be sure on the exact day until they send it over, I proofread the final version, etc. But I'll do another update once I get a better idea. The Kindle version will probably go on sale first, then the print version a day or two later (Amazon has to process it so that takes a little longer). Then I'm going to look into getting audiobook versions done of the last two books a little after that, but that may be a few months before the audio version is finished because it depends on the narrators' schedules and they're usually pretty full.
Thanks to everyone for waiting and for reading. This will be the last book in the They Who Fell series, but I'm going to start working on another book and a short story collection soon, and I'll update here as well whenever those come out.

They Who Fell status
Just for a status update on the last book in They Who Fell: I'm at 70,000 words in the draft (the other two books were 80,000 or so). But this one's probably going to end up being longer to be able to wrap everything up. I'm still not sure when the release date will be, and the next update probably won't be until I get a completed final draft. Once that's done, though, it'll be pretty close because at that point it's mostly about editing and formatting. Thanks for your patience and thanks for reading!

They Who Fell last book update
So bad news on the release date for the last book in the They Who Fell series - I'm not going to be able to get it out by June like I'd been hoping too. Partly it's from taking some time off from typing for RSI in my hands (it's pretty much healed, but there were a lot of breaks and a lot of messing around with my posture that knocked me off schedule). Partly I've just been taking more time on it than I thought I would.
Sorry to everyone who's been waiting. I want to make sure it's as good as I can make it, but I promise I'm not going to turn into one of those guys who takes 5 years to finish a book. I don't know exactly how much longer it will be, but I'm guessing a few more months, and I'll try to keep posting updates as I get a better idea on when it'll be finished.

Argonauts Released
Argonauts is now available on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/Argonauts-Kevin...
Argonauts is a retelling of a classic adventure from Greek mythology and one of the first romances in recorded history, the story of Jason and Medea falling in love on the quest for the Golden Fleece.
In the old myths, Jason is a warrior sent on a suicide mission to find a treasure called the Golden Fleece. The greatest warriors in Greece, the Argonauts, go along with him seeking glory and renown.
Jason falls in love with Medea, a barbarian sorceress who uses her magic to help him overcome impossible challenges and defeat strange monsters to recover the Golden Fleece and bring it home.
Argonauts retells the story in a science fiction near future where genetic engineering to overhaul human bodies and minds is commonplace. Drones rule the skies, a few massive corporations rule the land, and people have altered their genetic code to the point that they've become almost unrecognizable as human.
The book has action, adventure, a lot of twists on the old myths, and a modernized version of the love story of Jason and Medea, one of the first romances in recorded history.
The Kindle version of Argonauts is live as of 3/29/16, and the paperback should be out a few days from now. And for the They Who Fell series, I'm targeting a June release for the last book, and right now it's still looking like I'm on track for it. Thanks for reading!

New Book + Update on They Who Fell
Just as a status update: my current best guess is that the final book in the They Who Fell series will be out roughly this June. That could get delayed some with editing, formatting, deciding I want to polish it, etc., but that's what it looks like right now.
I'm also expecting to publish a completely different book soon (next week I think) based on the Greek myth of Jason and Medea. It's a science fiction retelling of the story of a group of Greek warriors who go on a quest to a foreign city searching for a treasure called the Golden Fleece. They're led by Jason, a warrior who falls in love with a barbarian sorceress named Medea, and they fight a bunch of strange monsters along the way.
It's something I've been working on part time for a while, it's been a lot of fun writing it, and I hope you'll enjoy it.
