I wrote the novel REMEMBER YOU WILL DIE, which was shortlisted for the 2025 Ursula K. Le Guin Prize and longlisted for the 2025 Massachusetts Book Awards. My debut novel, WHEN FRANNY STANDS UP, is also available.

I also have a forthcoming comedy murder mystery, DON'T CROSS MO ELLERY, which will be out August 11, 2026, co-written with M.W. Garguilo under the top-secret pseudonym Birdie Horne!

One time, I did stand-up comedy and no one booed. Another time, I went to the bottom of the ocean and didn't explode.

I'm halfway through Remember You Will Die and you've completely blown my mind with what you're pulling off. Stunning. May I know your educational background? There is an incredible breadth and depth of knowledge on display in the novel and so I'm expecting to hear you walked the halls of something covered in Ivy. I don't want to be disingenuous and say I didn't get a good education - I did! - but I'm not sure my Bachelor's degree from (mumblemumble) years ago did the heavy lifting here. In writing Remember You Will Die, I gave myself permission to do whatever I wanted - which was really scary and invigorating - and for me that just meant following my interests and curiosities, however strange they might be, and trusting that I'd figure out how to put it all together in the end. I did my research on the fly as I was writing, learning as I went along, and that kept it fun and alive to me. Oh and I *definitely* read the dictionary for fun as a kid. (less)
