The Monkey in "The Zoo: An Allegorical Adventure" (a political satire)

The chief antagonist in “The Zoo: An Allegorical Adventure” (a political satire) is a character called Larry the Monkey.

The monkey has been used in a variety of ways in literature, going back to at least circa 600 BC. Listed below are some translations of Aesop Fables “The Monkey and the Dolphin.”

In this translation, the Dolphin actually drowns the Monkey:

In these two translations, the Monkey is left alone on a deserted island:

MORAL: Those who lie and boast may end up in trouble.
