Cloudhover Solstice - sail away from the ordinary on your Kindle!

“What have you done, may I enquire, with that niece of mine?”

Emma finally found the words she was looking for to try and keep Bram in his place. She was forced to puff and blow ineffectually before each phrase, at a huge curling vane of exotic plumage, to ensure it didn't insert itself between her sneering lips.

Bram was soon into his stride as the worst liar this side of the Humber. He could feel Thirza's eyes boring into him from the midst of the reedbed, willing him not to give her away.

“I...I...erm...think Thirza has already left to wave off her brothers...that is, Lady Charlesworth, your nephews, when the fishing fleet sails...in de Noordzee!”

English was deserting him. Bad sign.

CLOUDHOVER SOLSTICE

The long-awaited sequel to my first novel 'Goatsucker Harvest' is here at last!

'Cloudhover Solstice ' is available for kindle, free on KindleUnlimited or £2 to buy.

I am so excited to share more of Thirza and Bram with you!

I do hope you enjoy it!

Yorkshire 1857

When a kittiwake, far inland from its clifftop home, plummets wounded onto the deck of ‘Thistle,’ their Humber keel, determined dreamer Thirza, the canal lass and her beloved Bram, the shy and sensitive marshman along with their faithful canine companion Piper, find themselves blown off course and all at sea in Flamborough.

Swept up in an emotional romantic adventure they face a race against time to rescue endangered seabirds, amid rumours, myths, smugglers, suspicion, hostility, egg collectors, gun-happy day-trippers, the feather trade, an eccentric naturalist, a recluse living on Danes Dyke, a shady sexton, a rookie lighthouse keeper, secret caves, a forty year old tragedy and the mysterious ‘Cloudhover of Chatterthrow’ before the sun itself stands still at the summer solstice.

From the author of ‘Goatsucker Harvest’ comes this gripping sequel, full of romance, humour, intrigue, passion, fantasy and some quite literal cliffhangers, a love song to Yorkshire, wildlife, courage and compassion.
