Do you believe?

I don't know.I don't know if I believe in ghosts. I don't know if I believe there is intelligent life on other planets.I really don't know. But it's fun to think it's possible, right?About three years ago I read a children's picture book to my twins, titled, "The Big Red Barn." It's a great book but has a curious beginning. It says, But in this story, the children are away. Only the animals are here today. My son put his hand on the page and stopped me."Where are the children?" he

Don't you wish we had more time in the day?

It's officially September and believe it or not, I'm actually excited about school. Despite the stress, it will be nice to have a change of pace and my goal is to support this awkward transition as much as possible. Like all teachers, we'll do our best to make sure there is learning and engagement, no matter what obstacles we face. But to me, what's more important than learning and engagement is our well-being. From a child's perspective, adults need to be positive, empathetic, and patient.

Book-a-palooza

Hi Readers,We're nearing the end of the summer and as teacher, I have to admit, I'm a little nervous. For the first time, I don't know what my classroom will look like, or how my students will feel. Regardless, I certainly hope we will all be safe as we ease our way into the fall.I have to say, it's been a very long 6 months, but there are some wonderful memories I shared with my family. The boardwalk near Joe Sam's park in WaterdownAnyway, there are some other great take-aways about this

BOOK REVIEW: Review for Shadowverse by John-Clement Gallo

As an author, I want to share my reviews of stories by fellow writersas a means of supporting the author community. John-Clement Gallo has written a solid sci-fi novel. I enjoyed the idea of a group of friends having super-powers and the writing style was great (especially considering the author is a teenager). Despite the beginning of the book feeling a little rushed, the overall story unfolded nicely.Great read!

That Thing in the Sky - Audio Book

After many months, "That Thing in the Sky" has finally come out on audible. The narration is fantastic, and definitely adds an engaging layer to the story. Thanks toMindy Escobar-Leanse for her wonderful voice acting skills.

Wesley

Wesley.I want to write about you for a moment because of your zest for life.I want to write about you because I see all of the innocent energy in you that I once had.And man, was it great.More than great. How does this connect to my author page? I'm a writer, an author, a creator of children's books. Why would I want to take a moment to share a photo of one of my children?Simple. He inspires me. They all do. I want to write a series - a good one - a structured one. What would make a good

The Plastic Mirror

I worked with a teacher a few years back who had so much talent and creativitythat I couldn't help but find myself gravitate to his positive energy. After completing several big school projects, like musicals, holiday assemblies, talent shows, and a school movie, we decided to step it one more time and create a steampunk story that would translate into a school movie and an educational-driven novel. The premise was that the protagonist in the movie would be the boy who is trapped on a decaying

Right in the Middle

You spend your childhood day dreaming. You spend your childhood playing and chasing that one butterfly that never seems to land.Childhood.Man, those were the days. The biggest worries were whether you were allowed out after dinner, or if the neighbors wanted to go to the creek with you to catch crayfish. Now, I'm looking from the outside, in.I see my four goofy children play with each other - at times, they make poor decisions. But, why should it upset me? Am I trying to mold them, or am

They Came from the Trees

I wrote this story a few years back with the intent of challenging the moral path. In times of struggle, we see the good and bad, and sometimes the bad is pulled out of a person despite what is seen as morally correct. We are trained in our youth to have beliefs, culture, and morals. We are trained in our youth to think a certain way. Our parents, our teachers, our mentors model what is right and what is wrong. Only when we grow, when our brains fully develop do we being to take on our own
