Adventures of a Star-Traveling Family
DRAGON & DINOSAUR CHRONICLES
OUR JOURNEY
As a bioscience executive and fifty-year entrepreneur, I spent most of my career helping kids and families deal with serious medical problems. I retired early to write books with my grandkids.
Reading and creative writing played key roles in my childhood, enabling me to break the cycle of family dysfunctionality. I’ve passed on my commitment to being a lifelong learner to my children and now my grandkids.
MAKING STORIES WITH KIDS
My grandson Brady, interested in my two scholarly American history books, decided we should co-develop a “Lewis and Tolkien” epic fantasy novel for late elementary and mid-grade readers. Brandon Sanderson’s Evil Librarians was Brady’s inspirational centerpiece.
Sprinkling in science fiction, we completed and launched Star Life Keepers in February 2024. Amazon recognized it as the #1 New Children’s eBook for Space Exploration and Time Travel. In December 2024, we also released a Special Edition featuring the Orion Dragons’ Holiday Tale.
FOLLOW A STAR-TRAVELING FAMILY
Our family-centric stories are ideal for young readers who love dragons, dinosaurs, and time travel adventures. Kids will enjoy our sci-fi/fantasy books about Jason, Amanda, Elisa, and their families, supported by illustrations, sequential maps, poetry, and study guides.
BEHIND THE SCENES
Our series is quietly faith-based and more than a story. It’s an immersive universe formed by astronomy magic, dinosaurology, and ancient history—plus a passion for exploring the unknown.
The adventure began with Star Life Keepers, a story that took our protagonists on a Star Globe through an Orion portal into a parallel universe. They landed in a medieval country filled with archers & knights and shapeshifting dragons & dinosaurs, and where Jason also must deal with his hidden nanotechnology hearing aids.
NEXT BOOKS
Brady passed the baton to his younger brother, Caleb, who helped me finish Orion Fire Storm and develop Book 3 (Orion Dragonriders). We’ll release the sequel this spring with our first workbook, Story Writing for Creative Kids.
Each novel helps young readers learn about characters who develop courage, resilience, innovative thinking, and multicultural collaborations as they fight against dinosaur creatures and dark magic.
CONNECTING WITH KIDS
While co-writing, my grandsons and I brainstorm, build magical worlds, and create characters that capitalize on their youthful energy and creativity. We use digital tools, arts & crafts, and imagineering strategies to combine Ideas & Words with Art & Design to create our Belacamber universe.
Having fun is essential, so we go on outdoor adventures, learn medieval warfare, critique movies, and more.
THE STORYMAKING HUB
My family and I have also created a website to equip parents and educators who want to enhance childhood literacy, creativity, and STEM critical thinking.
