The Wet Woman is inspired by a childhood dream, or possibly a memory, in which she overheard her parents discussing a man who sold his stepdaughter in order to pay off a gambling debt. This situation came back to Mattoni in a flash one day while she was driving, and she instantly began to wonder what would happen if the woman ever returned home.
