The real cost of Ziebart
This is a complaint about Ziebart, but it probably applies to many companies.
When we bought our used truck we thought it would be worthwhile to invest in getting Ziebart to rust proof it. After all, it was in great condition and it had low mileage. We planned on keeping it awhile. So we went to Ziebart.
I don't remember what we paid, but in must have been a couple hundred dollars. If I remember right, it came with a 5 year warranty. However, in order for the warranty to be in force, we needed to return for a yearly touch up. I should have asked how much this cost. I guess I was naive enough to think it was free or maybe $20 or so. Well, besides the fact that I have to drive over 30 miles to get there, and they make a mess with goo seeping out of door panels, it cost $100 dollars for each visit. But that was last year, so who knows how much this year with inflation? So my total cost will probably be close to $1000. Considering that most vehicles have mostly plastic (not steel) on the body, I will probably not get this service on my next vehicle.
My suggestion is you ask questions and read the micro print on their sales brochure when making any purchase for service,
