Healthy Snack Ideas For The Workplace

At my recent job, I sat in front of a computer for over ten years. It was fast pace, repetitious, and quite boring. The only good thing about the job was the lunch and snack breaks, which I took at my desk. I'm sure many of you can relate to the situation. You can so busy you don't have time to eat.


Instead of taking a few minutes to walk to the cafeteria or across the street to a local restaurant, I often find myself standing at the vending machine, or opening the junk-food drawer to curb my appetite. For someone who worked ten hours shifts, I need the extra sugar to keep me going. When I did take the time to eat lunch, I found myself reaching down into a bag of potato chips, gummy bears( my favorite) in between checking emails, answering the phones, and entering data in a computer. Not a pretty picture or a healthy one.

One day I got up enough nerves to step on a scale. I had gained over 30 pounds. YIKES! My normal weight is around 120. I ballooned to 150. I knew I had to change my eating habits. Desktop dining was ruining my health.
