Born and raised along the Front Range in Colorado, Heather discovered her love of writing in Mrs. Girardi's 2nd grade class. She and her friend, Jessica, participated in a "start a story with this line..." spin-wheel activity. The thought of being able to create an entire world, its characters, and their stories, just with her imagination, was so profound and appealing to her that she never stopped writing. In fact, that very summer she began to write and illustrate a series called "The Adventures of Sparkles the Dolphin" on the pink scrap paper her family had laying around the house.
