Review: The Witch's Boy

Introduction. When Ned and his identical twin brother tumble from their raft into a raging, bewitched river, only Ned survives. Villagers are convinced the wrong boy lived. Sure enough, Ned grows up weak and slow, and stays as much as possible within the safe boundaries of his family’s cottage and yard. But when a Bandit King comes to steal the magic that Ned’s mother, a witch, is meant to protect, it's Ned who safeguards the magic and summons the strength to protect his family and community...

Happy Birthday Fox!

Hello dear friends! Well who can believe it's been an entire year since Fox and I started out on our great writing adventure! What a wonderful year it has been. We have written many more tales, some of which have ended up in the magazine, some on A1 & A2's bedside and our greatest adventure by far has been our very first children’s novel which is only a chapter or two away from being finished. Through it all our biggest support has been you! SoFox and I would like to say a very big

Let there be light...

Dear friends, It seems to me that some people are born to shine and no matter what hurdles and challenges they face their courage and determination to succeed never dims. This was the case for Helen Keller. I was lucky enough to write a bio on her for this months issue of HistoriCool. For those who are familiar with her story you will be aware of her great achievements, of her fight for equality that took her around the world, that gained her both fame and respectand of[image error]

Heigh ho, heigh ho...

Good afternoon dear friends, Well, I can't say the weather's improved much since I last wrote to you but it can't be long until the warm sweet winds of spring arrive. Until then I shall keep my cosy jumpers and hot chocolate at hand! I amwriting to share a fantastical adventure I had a few weeks ago, when I(along with Sir C and A1 & A2)ventured down into the darkness...into the mines! Our trip to the Wonthaggi Coal Mines was one of research[image error]

Meet the girls...

Hello everyone, I trust you're keeping warm if you're in this part of the world. If you're from somewhere warmer please resist the urge to laugh and point at us cold munchkins over here. (Can you hear our teeth chattering?) In much warmer fuzzier news, we have four new family members! Introducing Aunt Mae (the second), Shadow, Esmeralda and Popcorn. (So named by my darling husband wholoves- you guessed it- popcorn chicken. Luckily she also

Very cold and very pretty. 'Coldest morning in 18 years,' theweather man told us so what a perfect opportunity to rugup and head out on an adventure! After some driving (and quite a few turns this way and that) we found a secret path at the end of a streetin beautiful Red HIll that led us all the way down to

What also helped werethe parcels sentfrom home stuffed full of goodies; knitted socks, playing cards, photos, letters and of course food. As so many

Meet Fox

Recently I had a birthday, a rather large one that I wasn't entirely looking forward to but as one might guess it turned out to bequite wonderful. We ventured down to the place I love most in the heart of Gippsland, where on any given day you can see wild rabbits, lackadaisical koalas andamob ofkangaroos bouncing across thepicturesque landscape. We shared a lovely lunch and then I was given my birthday gift... I am so happy to introduce you... Everyone, meet Fox. Fox, everyone.
