Future

I've thought a lot about what I would like to my blog to be going forward. It's hard to keep a blog simply about just my writing journey. There isn't a whole lot of information that comes with that. Just a lot of desserts and me looking like a couch potato in front of a computer screen. Even I don't want that image.

So here's what I'm thinking. Of course I'll still update about my progress with new releases, but I'd like to also be able to share with you books I've read, recipes I've enjoyed, and things that strike me as interesting.

There's no telling how often I'll even write. I'm excited though to keep a little of my creativity flowing into something other than my books.

With all of that said, I wanted to share something I stumbled upon today which I thought was cool. Amazon always chooses certain books to discount, that isn't any thing new. Maybe I'm behind, but I just found the discounted books all in one place! Amazon is usually never that organized. It's like a rabbit hole, you're looking at new shirts and suddenly you find yourself looking at lawn mowers. Not that that's a bad thing, I usually find quite a few cool things along the way.

When it comes to books though, I just want to look at books. I want to see the covers and read the reviews. Are those the first two things you look at too?

Let me know what book you decided to pick up! Bonus points if you tell me how it was!

Two years

I can hardly believe I haven't blogged in two years. It's amazing how fast time flies, while sometimes it seemed (in this last year) that time stood still.

I don't know if any of you are still out there following along this lonely little blog, but if you are here are the highlights from the last two years.

Wagering Home released on August 14, 2019, just before I stopped posting. However, on April 1st of this year the Audiobook finally released!

This was a new one for me. It wasn't as easy as I envisioned and for someone who hates being read to, it was a process. Yep there's a tidbit you may not have known about little ole' me. So if you haven't had a chance to check it out, please do. I think you'll enjoy it!
Then on July 26th 2021, Letters at the Tree, hit the shelves so to speak.

And while I only released one new book during the last two years, I don't see that as a small accomplishment. You see, it takes me somewhere around a year to complete a book, start to finish, and in this case, I truly feel this one is one of my best yet. Writing Letters at the Tree was no easy feat, between trying out a new way to story tell and having my kids home so much of last year due to the unmentionable events that took place, I had my work cut out for me, however I think it paid off. I'd love to hear your thoughts if you've had the chance to check it out. And if you haven't had the chance yet, I'd love it you could leave a review at whichever retailer you feel lead to.
I would love to say that I'm going to get back into regular blogging, but the truth is life is unpredictable. And if any of us have learned anything in the past year and a half it's that.
In the meantime, know that I'm not sitting idle. I have a new book in the works, as always that's coming along nicely. And hopefully the beginning of next year I'll have a new audiobook ready for you to devour... Which book do you think it will be?
With so much out there to occupy your time, I truly appreciate every moment you take to follow along with me, read my books, review, or comeback and tell me about it. It means so much to me, much more than you could ever know.
What news do you have to share? I'd love to chat about it, and celebrate it with you. Comment below or come see me on FB or Insta and tell me the best thing that happened to you in the last two years!! I may have a nice little surprise for those who do!
Love always, C. M.

I'm so excited to be on the BLUE team this round and this time I get the honor of featuring
TARA LYNN CHILDS!

But first this is how you play:
Directions: Below, you'll notice that I've listed my favorite number. Collect all the favorite numbers from all the authors on the blue team, and then add them up (don't worry, you can use a calculator!).
Entry Form: Once you've added up all the numbers, make sure you fill out the form here to officially qualify for the grand prize. Only entries that have the correct number will qualify.
Rules: Open internationally, anyone below the age of 18 should have a parent or guardian's permission to enter. To be eligible for the grand prize, you must submit the completed entry form by Sunday October 9th, at noon Pacific Time. Entries sent without the correct number or without contact information will not be considered.

Now that you know what to do, check out Tara, an awesome author that I'm grateful to host for this fall's YASH!
Tera Lynn Childs is the RITA-award-winning young adult author of the mythology-based Oh. My. Gods. series, the Forgive My Fins mermaid romance series, the kick-butt monster-hunting Sweet Venom trilogy, and the Darkly Fae series. She also wrote the City Chicks sweet chick lit romance series and co-wrote the Hero Agenda and Creative HeArts series. Tera currently lives in Las Vegas and spends her time writing wherever she can find a comfy chair and a steady stream of caffeinated beverages.

Pretty great right? Word has it she can even hold her breath for  13  seconds longer than I can. How about that?

Slip into a world of myths, mermaids, and magic for a collection of holiday stories sure to warm the coldest heart!
Of Solstice Dreaming — Winnie Price has spent years dreaming of the magical Winter Solstice celebration in the fae realm. This is the year she will finally get to attend. But when things don’t go according to plan, will her dream still come true?
A Mythmas Carol — Christmas has never brought anything but trouble for Gretchen Sharpe. She’d rather spend the holidays hunting down mythological monsters than fighting over mashed potatoes. Can three sentimental hunts change her mind?
Snow Falling on Serfopoula — The Haloa festival is supposed to be a time of hope, but Adara Spencer hasn’t been feeling particularly hopeful. Until a surprise island snowfall brings three surprise visitors to her door with a surprise invitation.
New Year, New Mermaid — Marina Borealis knows having a crush on your best friend is the worst. Especially when he doesn’t feel the same way. Especially on New Year’s Eve. Will she spend another year unrequited, or will everything change before the shell drops?
GET YOURS

Check out the awesome playlist she's made to go along with Myths and Mistletoe.
Author's Note: The four stories of Myths and Mistletoe take place across four winter holidays (Winter Solstice, Christmas, Haloa, and New Year's Eve), so each has a slightly different feel. In groups of three, the songs on this playlist correspond to different stories. So whether you're looking to enhance the atmosphere as you read the collection or you want to recreate and remember the experience later, these twelve songs will keep you in the Myths and Mistletoe mood.

August 7, 2019

It's been too long.

It's been far too long since I've come here to update, almost a year to be exact! Since my last cover reveal! I can't believe it!
Anyway, I'm so excited to let you all know that my newest book will be releasing NEXT week! Can you believe it? I'm on pins and needles just thinking about it.
So without further ado, Wagering Home.

Ever wonder what it would be like if you had the chance to start over? To restart your life from the moment you opened your eyes?

That’s exactly what I got.

After a horrible car accident, I woke up in the hospital with no memory of my past, surrounded by strangers – or rather, my parents. Moments in time, memories made, all gone...as if they never existed.

Time passed, and my body healed while my mind remained locked, leaving me with a blank slate. Life around me returned to normal, and I was simply expected to climb aboard.

Except, I was barely hanging on.

Resigned to the fact that my memories might never return, I broke up with my boyfriend, packed up all my things, and headed to Colorado, where I’d planned to attend college in the fall. There, I could start over, be myself, away from watchful eyes and sympathetic looks.

However, I never expected to meet Jack. Falling for him wasn’t part of the plan.

Also not part of the plan: having to choose where I belonged once my memories came flooding back.

They say home is where the heart is...but which part of my heart is right?
Pre-order your copy here. Read on August 14th!
Also, I would LOVE LOVE LOVE it if you'd post a review after you've read Wagering Home. I've entered it in the Kindle Storytellers Contest and reviews are how they judge the winners! If you think its great, share it with your friends! It would mean soo much to me!
Thank you for all your continued support!

YA Scavenger Hunt-2017

YA Scavenger Hunt
Welcome to YA Scavenger Hunt! This bi-annual event was first organized by author Colleen Houck as a way to give readers a chance to gain access to exclusive bonus material from their favorite authors...and a chance to win some awesome prizes! At this hunt, you not only get access to exclusive content from each author, you also get a clue for the hunt. Add up the clues, and you can enter for our prize--one lucky winner will receive one book from each author on the hunt in my team! But play fast: this contest (and all the exclusive bonus material) will only be online for 72 hours!
Growing up I LOVED going on scavenger hunts! I used to beg my mom to make up clues leading me here and there, around my house to find a small treat at the end. This Scavenger Hunt isn't your average kid hunt! This has some amazing books as prizes! And who wouldn't love to win them?
Go to the YA Scavenger Hunt page to find out all about the hunt. There are eight contests going on simultaneously, and you can enter one or all! I am a part of the ORANGE TEAM--but there is also a red team, a gold team, a green team, a blue team, a purple team, and a pink team for a chance to win a whole different set of books!
If you'd like to find out more about the hunt, see links to all the authors participating, and see the full list of prizes up for grabs, go to the YA Scavenger Hunt page.
SCAVENGER HUNT PUZZLE

Entry Form: Once you've added up all the numbers, make sure you fill out the form here to officially qualify for the grand prize. Only entries that have the correct number will qualify.
Rules: Open internationally, anyone below the age of 18 should have a parent or guardian's permission to enter. To be eligible for the grand prize, you must submit the completed entry form by October 8th, at noon Pacific Time. Entries sent without the correct number or without contact information will not be considered.
SCAVENGER HUNT POST

Today, I am hosting Michelle Andreani and Mindi Scott on my website for the YA Scavenger Hunt!
Michelle Andreani and  Mindi Scott  are novelists from opposite coasts who met through an online Young Adult Writing class. For years, they critiqued each other’s manuscripts, and then they wrote an entire book together—all while exchanging thousands and thousands (oh, and thousands) of emails, texts, and Tweets. Michelle lives in New York City, and The Way Back to You is her first novel. Mindi lives near Seattle, Washington, and her books are FreefallLive Through ThisViolent Ends, and The Way Back to You.

Find out more information by checking out the author website or find more about the author's book here!

AmazonB&NBook Depository and our site/blog!

EXCLUSIVE CONTENT
The Way Back to You
So much of co-writing is being on the same page (well...no pun intended). Which meant the visuals were super important to us while working on THE WAY BACK TO YOU because we each needed to be seeing the same things. Photos were a reference to go back to -- whether for characters or settings -- but also inspiration. Not to brag, but that led to a pretty spectacular, slightly overwhelming Pinterest page. (It's still a secret, but you can check out a sampling of it here!) And for a quick glance into Cloudy and Kyle, and their journey in the book, we've put together a moodboard for each of them. We hope they give you a sense of where the story takes them...
Cloudy
Kyle
And don't forget to enter the contest for a chance to win a ton of books by me, C. M. Boers, and more! To enter, you need to know that my favorite number is 21. Add up all the favorite numbers of the authors on the orange team and you'll have all the secret code to enter for the grand prize!

CONTINUE THE HUNT
To keep going on your quest for the hunt, you need to check out the next author!
