yesterday i stared at the menu for five long minutes.

finally, about to give up, i enquired of a lovely lady sitting nearby.

"what, pray tell, does evoo mean, fellow diner?"

without hesitation she smiled as she might at her curious grandson,

and said, "extra virgin olive oil."

"of course," i laughed,

as if i'd known it all along.
