The Quilt, Unravelled
The latest review has made my day! Thank you Trish Carroll.
The Title of Rochelle’s Book stood for me because I am a seamstress, generally I go for specific Authors. The Book was not difficult to get into, the opposite in fact, I could not put it down. Every facet of the Story was fascinating. Rochelle stitched together all the characters past and present seamlessly. For me to feel as if I was actually there is rare. Her wording created within me many emotions and for that I Salute Her. I have the utmost confidence in recommending ‘The Quilt:Unravelled’ t The Title of Rochelle’s Book stood for me because I am a seamstress, generally I go for specific Authors. New Description

Lawyer, Joanne Kyle, imagines a life full of happiness and fulfilment. She is engaged to a handsome artist, lives above a windswept beach, and has a growing list of clients. But in a heartbeat everything changes.
It starts with her naked fiancé disappearing in the rear-view mirror, and ends with news so devastating she collapses, on the filthy floor of an airport toilet. It is the day that ruins her career, and sets Joanne on an emotional journey that will change her forever.
Paul Clarke looks like a man that has stepped out of the pages of a women's magazine. He lives on Twin Pines Station, a New Zealand high country farm that is shrouded in mystery following the unsolved disappearance of his Grandmother.
The small town community expect Paul will marry his volatile, pregnant girlfriend and become the fourth generation of his family to settle in the area.
But not everything is as it appears, and life for Paul is about to be turned upside down.
No one could predict the tragedy that will destroy Joanne’s only real friendship, make her question everything she once believed and bring Paul Clarke in to her life.
What unfolds is an unforgettable story of friendship and loss, unexpected romance, family secrets and change born through love.

"Moving, rousing and beautifully written." - Jackie Parry
“A story that is both personal and intimate.. This multi-generation family saga is immense in scope (and intense).” – Mark Fine

This book was a great read, the plot was very well put together. It kept you wanting to read to find out
what would happen next.
It had just the right balance of happiness and sadness for me, lots of interesting twists and turns,
interesting relationships between parents and their adult children and a very satisfying ending.
Nice to read a book that is set in your own country (New Zealand) and I felt very much part of the
story because of this. Would recommend this book.

Random Lucidity
This is a story that held my attention from start to finish. Each of its characters is believable and there are enough unexpected twists to keep the reader turning the pages.
I particularly enjoyed the author’s ability to draw you in to each relationship. A romance under pressure, a father and son and their roles as they are inevitably reversed when age takes its toll, a caregiver that is plagued by greed and vice and a writer of notes that is far from what you would expect.
There are several experiences and choices that are not only true to life but also thought provoking. The end came as a surprize and the plot is a credit to the author.
This is a book that would appeal to a wide cross section of readers – from romantic suspense fans to those seeking a mystery that is both clever and well written. I would highly recommend Random Lucidity and look forward to reading more from this author.
New Review (its cold down under!)
My blog has been neglected but soon there will be news to add about the next book. Yes I, together with my geriatric cat Mouse, have been busy writing.
Have a great weekend where ever you are. And think of us in the Southern Hemisphere experiencing the coldest temperatures since 1908!

The Quilt is a beautifully written book chronicling the lives of Paul Clarke and Joanne Kyle. It was quite something watching as these two very different people, from two very different backgrounds, were slowly brought together. It made me reflect on my own life. Quite often you get lost in the now, losing sight of the steps that brought you there, and for a book to do that is special indeed.
I loved the characters. Everyone is presented so clearly, with unique personalities and voices; I really felt as though I knew them.
And no review of the Quilt would be complete without mentioning the setting. I’ve always wanted to visit New Zealand, and reading this book has only strengthened that desire. Rochelle Carlton does a wonderful describing the landscape. Reading about the Clarke’s vineyard made me want to hop on a plane and see it for myself.
This is a special book. Do you yourself a favor and read it. You won’t be disappointed.
