Daley James Francis has been writing stories since he was a kid. The only things that have changed over time is his spelling and the size of his beard.

He has been a writer since graduating from De Montfort University with a degree in Creative Writing and Journalism in 2012, and in that time, has written for many publications, written and produced short films that have been shown in festivals all over the world, and watched a life-threatening number of episodes of The Wright Stuff.

He has released three novels to date. The rom-com for guys WALKING UP A SLIDE, the drama-comedy SOMERFLIP, and a kids book called THIS BOOK BELONGS TO.

He lives in Loughborough with his wife and addiction to Netflix.

First film that made you cry as an adult?

CINEMA PARADISO. I’d never seen anything so beautiful in all my life. I was 16 at the time. There were plenty of wobbles along the way, but when he watches the film of all the kisses at the end, I was gone. I had to be discreet, as I was watching it with my older brother, and I thought he’d take the piss. He was probably doing the same.
