Hence, when I do experience this so called 'writer's block', it is usually because there are way too many thoughts creating havoc in my mind. Over the years, I have learned to take it as a sign...an internal signal that expresses the need to de-clutter...to de-stress. So times like these, I slow down and try to relax. This can include anything from planning a short trip to a place I love, or hanging out with my best friends, reading a good book, or something as simple as taking a nap, at the end of which life always seems a little less trying.
Long story short, the block often clears with me trying to forget I'm a writer, and inspiration, like an insecure muse, rushing back to remind me of it. *smiles*(less)

The 'apple' of our eye: the story of the underrated fruit

Not a very long time ago, our beloved prime minister, two times over, was asked a question of paramount importance.

“Kya aap Aam khate hain,” the B-Town superstar asked him, “Aur khate hain, toh kaise khate hai?”

While most left-brained individuals took offence at this seemingly petty topic, the right wing/brain found it deeply comforting that the PM had in some way, proved he was a simple man with Read more of this blog post »

“Memories are weird. They never really leave you alone, no matter how much you try, and the funny part is--the more you try, the more they haunt you. The more you want to run away, the faster they seem to catch up, and then there comes a time when you are convinced that you have finally managed to leave them behind and move on. You rejoice. You celebrate. You have exorcised the ghosts of the past--you feel liberated, UNTIL one fine day, some old memory creeps up slowly from behind and taps you on your shoulder just to say "Hi. How’s it going so far?". That is when everything comes rushing in, and you realize that maybe, just maybe, it had never really gone away.”

“It’s amusing how we can sometimes hardly remember our first meetings with the most important people in our lives. Where, how, when we first met becomes all a blur. Somewhere along the way, we realize we have become so emotionally tethered to one another that the moment we first met does not matter. Life before meeting them ceases to exist.”

“A woman should never go so far with someone, that she cannot come back alone...not for love..not for society…not for herself. It took me so long to find my way back.”

“Our true beauty lies in the eyes of the people who love us, who care about us. Beauty is ephemeral, true love is not. Old and wrinkled, or with a hundred extra pounds, you will always stay perfect to the ones who love you.”

“What are memories but photo images from the mind? Isn't the human mind so much like a camera, saving pictures every now and then?”
Priyanka Naik, Twists Of Fate

“It’s funny how our desires often tend to circle around the whims and fancies of others rather than the self. One school of thought has a convincing explanation that this is because we live in a society that makes us want to be pleasing to others more than the self--a rather selfless trait, so to think. But then there is this other theory which eventually concludes that we do all of this to please no one but the self...because praise and compliments are what the devil thrives on, and we are in no significant way any different.”
