"Love Bites"
Ok, so a couple months back, just weeks before the world went crazy, I was asked to join a group of amazing authors to contribute a story to the Girl Power Romance Collection. I was honored and a little hesitant because, let's face it, this is just a fun little side gig.Needless to say, all of the other authors were welcoming and amazing! With my full-time gig diminished, I was able to crank out a fresh new story that was just released today! And, because I loved my characters so much, I'm already halfway through a follow up for them!If you haven't gotten bitten yet, I highly suggest you do so.(Check out the cover!)
Then check out the rest of the amazing stories that are all linked right here on my webpage. As always, happy reading!Much love,

Where am I going now?
So, I've been done with my Masters for over six months now. I've recuperated from a major surgery. And now I'm gearing up for more big life changes as I prepare my oldest child for his next journey after graduation. What does that mean for Layla?Well, I'm not certain. Right now, I'm finalizing my "Modern Tales of Fantasy: Q Series" boxed set for release while I've already started another story about secondary characters of my tertiary characters from the Anderson Circle. Why can't I get away from the stories I've already written? Why do I keep back going to characters I've introduced in passing?I'm not certain, really. I created an intricate web of stories with my first 15 novels. Then I still revisited some of them with my Tertiary Circle of Friends while still coming back to them in my Q Series. I guess I think that every person I introduce has a story that needs to be told. Or maybe I'm just that caught up in my own characters that I can't leave them alone. No matter the reason, I'm okay with it.I've read authors before who have written books that follow the same group of characters for a long time, so I suppose that means there isn't anything wrong with me. But...What if?That's what I'm pondering now. There are so many characters that have crossed paths in my stories that I can't help but wonder what would happen IF things had happened a little differently.Maybe an alternative ending series?I don't know. What do you think?Much love and happy reading,Layla

Anniversary Edition!
This year, on 18 July, I will have spent 5 years moonlighting as Layla Delaney. Since that night when I penned the first chapter of "Catching My Heart," I will have 28 novels and 4 novellas published. If you've read my stories from the beginning, I'm sure you've noticed the gradual development of my writing style. Now, as I look back at Nicole Pepper and Gage Anderson, the couple that started it all, I find myself wanting to revisit and revise. The stories themselves will remain intact, but they will be updated to conform to what you've come to expect in my writing.I often read over my old stories when I bring back a previous character for their own story or reference a prior event. This usually leads to an update in my publishings with revisions for typos and other errors. (Yes, I do this all on my own, so I doubt any of my stories are whoops-free). Since I cut my teeth with the Grand Slam Trilogy, I feel that now is the perfect time for this.If all goes well, all three novels and the novella will be ready for release on my author-versary date.Happy reading!

I'm back!
It's 2019 and Layla is finally back!My Masters degree will be official in just a few weeks and with that off my plate, I can get back to this delicious little side gig of mine! So here is what's brewing:First of all, my publisher is having technical issues, which has prevented me from releasing "Overexposure" - Focal Point Duet, Book 1 on any platform other than Kindle. I'm hoping to have that resolved in the next few weeks. Second, part two of that duet is in the editing stages and will still be ready for release on 18 February 2019. Finally, and this is the best part, I've started another story! And this one is going to be a doozy! I'm pushing my boundaries even further than fantasy with this one and so far I'm really enjoying the direction it has taken. After being absent from this wonderful creative process for so long, I was worried that I'd have trouble getting started again. But thankfully, the more I started typing, the more the ideas started flowing. So here's to a fun and prolific 2019!And as always, happy reading!Much love,Layla

It's almost over!
I'm just days away from submitting my Masters thesis! After that? Just one more elective class! I simply cannot believe that I am almost finished! That being said, and with this huge academic writing effort almost at its conclusion, my Layla brain has come back to life!Just a few days ago, I started penning another story that I hope to publish before the end of 2018. I'm staying in the land of fantasy, so if you've been keeping up, you will meet some familiar characters. I have a nice long break before my full-time gig and my last class begins, so I'm hoping to burn up my keyboard with something sexy!Stay tuned and happy reading!Much love, Layla

New year, new ideas!
With my first story of 2018 queued for release and the second one two-thirds complete, more story ideas have started to take shape. Some of them mine and some of them from my favorite pair of spit-ballers! Having explored new territory in "Alicia's Wonderland," I plan on continuing in that direction as I push the boundaries of my comfort zone. And for those of you who have been with me from the beginning, some of my very first characters still manage to make appearances. I just can't seem to let them go!If you want to stay updated on what's happening in my fictional world, you can friend me on Facebook at Author Layla Delaney, or you can join my private group LaylaLand, or follow my author page at NovelsByLaylaDelaney.I wish you a prosperous 2018 and as always, happy reading!Much love,Layla

Halfway through the hiatus!
Well, in two more days I will be exactly half way through my Masters program. And I will have a break from classes until mid-January. Somehow, in the last 9 weeks, I've been able to crank out my first story for 2018. It's a fresh new twist on a classic tale and man, oh, man, it is unlike anything I'vewritten before.I've enjoyed it so much, I plan on staying in the fantasy world for the rest of 2018.Stay tuned and as always, happy reading.
